About Ranjit's Kitchen
Ranjit's Kitchen is an Indian restaurant at 607 Pollokshaws Rd in Glasgow, built around a thali with a daal of the day and a sabji of the day, both of which change daily. The plate also includes homemade yoghurt, roti and chutney. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options, and pakora arrives with chutney. Mango lassi is on the drinks list. Homemade sweets and snacks are displayed on a counter in the room. The space is small, with big shared tables and limited seating, and a wait is possible at busy times. The restaurant opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the Punjabi thali, built around a daal and sabji of the day, homemade yoghurt, roti, pickle and chutney, and described as a generous way to try a bit of everything. The daal is called creamy and smooth, and the sabji flavourful with the roti. Close behind are the special pakora, which one reviewer says may be their favourite in Glasgow, and the mango lassi, while another reviewer singles out the samosas. Vegetarians repeatedly say they can eat anything on the menu, and the staff are called friendly and helpful. The caveats are space and a few misses. The restaurant is small with limited seating, and one reviewer expects a wait at busy times. One found the aloo tiki like battered mash, and another found the samosa less crispy than hoped and the Punjabi cha too mild. One reviewer notes that everything is freshly made and advises pre-ordering. One table's eyes were bigger than their stomachs, and the leftovers were packed up to take away.

“Out-bloody-standing. Went in with high expectations and were well and truly exceeded. Tremendous curry. Pictured is the Sabji and the Daal (of the days) alongside some veg pakora and the most delicious breads. Dipping away with friends into the spectacular curries after a couple jars was an absolute delight. This place is truly a highlight of the south side. There were plenty of spaces on big tables that you share with other patrons. The decor of the place was simple but warm and comfy. It was excellent for a relaxing dinner with friends. The food was the real star of the show though, not for a second did I think meat would have enhanced these dishes. The spices and perfect blend of consistencies really built a taste experience from the start to the end of the meal. The staff were very helpful and friendly which is always a big green tick from me. I just want their recipes now!! Definitely the best food I’ve had (so far) in the south side. I was also very drunk. Cheers to everyone running this excellent business! :)”

“Great indian food in the southside with lots of vegetarian options. I tried the thali which came with a daal and sabji of the day, homemade yoghurt, roti and chutney. The portion is really good for the price, and you get to try a bit of everything. The daal is creamy and smooth. The sabji is flavourful paired great with the roti. The special pakora is insanely good, crispy batter, full of flavour and the chutney made it a perfect paring. I totally revoked their pakora, it might be my favourite pakora in Glasgow. The samosa channa special is okay, the samosa is not as crispy as I’d like but the sweet channa is full of flavour, again, big portion. The Punjabi cha is too mild for my preference, wish spice flavour is stronger, the sweet it came with is amazing tho. The whole restaurant feels clean and open, with a counter displaying their homemade sweets and snacks. They don’t have a lot of seating and it’s pretty popular. The menu offers a good range of variety of food to try. Great friendly service!”
