About Peking Palace Restaurant
A 273-dish menu anchors Peking Palace Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant on E Kilbride Rd in Glasgow, giving diners a long list to work through alongside pre-set multi-course menus and a two-course lunch deal for those wanting the choice made for them. The soup section alone runs from Chicken Sweetcorn Soup to Hot and Sour Soup, and satay arrives in both beef and chicken versions. Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and spring rolls are among the other dishes ordered here. Portions come large, and the set menus bring more courses than most diners finish. The exterior is plain and gives little sense of the restaurant inside. The kitchen also handles takeaway orders, and the doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Satay is what reviewers single out most, with one calling the beef satay the best their brother had ever had and another describing the chicken satay, ordered as a takeaway, as the best they had ever tasted. Close behind is the sense of value and volume: several point to the pre-set and pre-theatre menus, one noting so much food arrived they could not face the third course, and another highlighting a two course lunch. Other named plates include spring rolls, chicken and mushroom soup, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, and a special curry made extra spicy on request. Repeated comments urge others not to judge the unpromising exterior, describing a bright interior with a great wall mural and fish tank. The dissenting note comes from one diner who found prices sharply increased, the sauces and gravy too sweet, and the waiting staff intrusive, approached by several different servers within moments of sitting down. One party mentions the new owner stopping by their table for feedback.

“No idea who is rating this down. The food is consistently high quality across the board and the staff are nice. Delivery is usually fairly quick (but will be impacted by big events, like all other takeaways - I say this as someone who's currently awaiting a delivery on a final day, my fault) I will say it is a little expensive on some items. My only real gripe is this - how is a salt and chilli chips £2 dearer than chips, but you get about half as much chips? I just don't order it anymore.”

“Take away rather than restaurant. Best chicken satay I've ever tasted.”

“May not look too inviting from the outside but enter through the door and you will find a really excellent Chinese restaurant. Interior is typical with a large great wall mural and the obligatory fish tank but its bright and comfortable. All the favourites are there on a big menu. Our Sweet and sour chicken Cantonese was excellent. A large portion of Prawn Crackers is provided free with each meal. A special mention for the very helpful staff who gave us great service. The restaurant is situated on East Kilbride Rd. adjacent to the Cathkin Hotel. A really nice evening of Chinese style dining”

“Very quiet, just how I like it. Food was exceptional and considering it was a pre-set menu we ordered from, the quantity of food was overwhelming. There was so much food, that I could not face the third course, so definitely value for money. Cannot wait to return.”
