Quick info
About BAMBOO INN
On Tollcross Rd in Glasgow, Bamboo Inn is a Chinese takeaway serving the neighbourhood in the evenings. The menu runs from chicken chow mein to spare ribs and homemade spring rolls, with the salt and pepper munch box available for those wanting a mixed combination in one box. Chicken satay appears as a starter rather than a main. Orders are placed at the counter on a walk-in basis, with no reservations taken, and the shop stays open every day except Tuesdays. Food can be collected in person or sent out for delivery, making it workable for eating at home rather than on site. The counter area is kept clean.

Customer Review Summary
Portion size is the throughline across reviews, with the Special Chow Mein and chicken breast curry both singled out as generous enough to feed two, and containers described as full to the brim. Close behind, several diners praise the homemade spring rolls and the Chicken & Cheese rolls, and one reviewer calls the tofu dish the best they've had, with food described as hot and fresh. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and polite, even served just before closing, and the shop is noted as clean and spotless. The salt and pepper munch box draws mixed reports, though: one reviewer found it just chips and not fresh, while another loved it apart from missing chicken balls. Pricing is a sharper complaint for one customer, who paid £27.80 for spare ribs, chicken satay skewers, and chow mein, was refused rice, and called it overpriced and a rip off. Most reviewers, though, describe leaving with more food than they could finish.

“Food was terrible salt and pepper munch box was just purely chips and didn’t taste fresh. Very disappointing put it in the bin”

“2nd visit when staying locally. Chicken & Cheese rolls, Special Chow Mein, well this would have fed 2!! Excellent quality, generous helping & good price. Looking forward to my next visit 😊”

“The chicken breast curry was nice, but too salty in my opinion. A bit less of the salt and it would have been really tasty. The containers are full to the brim, and one curry would EASILY feed two, which is a good thing.”

“Totally overpriced with restaurant prices!! Ordered spare ribs, chicken satay on skewer/boiled rice and chicken chow mein. Got home no boiled rice called takeaway to be told they only do chicken satay as a starter where everywhere else I’ve been does it as a main course and you get rice . So we paid £27.80 for spare ribs/ 4 chicken satay skewers and chicken chow mein! Rip off won’t be back”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
