Guests are seated at a table, where waiting staff take drink orders. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what most reviewers single out, calling the food excellent, well presented and well priced, and one praises the vegan carvery in particular. Staff earn nearly as much credit, described repeatedly as friendly, warm and attentive, from the table service to the chef at the carvery, and one party found their table ready as soon as they arrived. A beer garden and a weeknight Carlsberg offer also get mentions. The caveats are real. One diner found the carvery overpriced, with two thin slices of turkey, fatty pork and no dessert included, and another called the ordering system over complicated, with separate waitresses for drinks and food and a wait to be called up to the counter. The sharpest complaint concerns a Philly steak baguette that arrived lukewarm and apparently microwaved, with chewy steak. It was replaced by a tuna melt that was not melted, the chips were cold, and the diner was still charged for the original baguette.

“Next door to the premier inn, friendly staff, good service. Decent food. Carvery looked popular. Carlsberg on offer weeknights - less than £3 a pint”

“Excellent service from the moment we stepped in the door. Some of our party were early and they were just going to have a drink but our table was ready, which was great. The warmth of the greeting was lovely, no grumpy servers here. The food was lovely, warm and well presented. Even after, probably, a long shift staff were still warm and friendly.”

“Was nice place easy to park lovely waiting staff and serving at the cavery However small plate £14 2 slices very thin Turkey breast pork was all fat my friend took that the leeks in a sauce no ! and cauliflower cheese not my choice either potatoes roast and boiled big Yorkshire and gravy. So felt over priced .Thought be a small dessert included but not . The location suited as meeting friend from other side of city so maybe try again but not the cavery .”

“Not sure what I did wrong in life to deserve food this atrocious but I can’t even wait an hour after visiting to leave this review. Staff were friendly enough but when my Philly Steak baguette arrived, I knew I was in trouble just by looking at it. Clearly microwaved, lukewarm and couldn’t even fully bite down on it because the steak was so chewy. Not only that, but there was a really strong chemical taste coming from the steak itself, which I can’t seem to get rid of even now. I haven’t sent food back in a restaurant in over a decade but it was inedible and I was really hungry so wanted to see if maybe I’d just made the wrong choice from the menu. They replaced it with a tuna melt which was just about edible, but not melted at all. Chips were cold. To add insult to injury, they charged me for the original steak baguette which was more expensive than the tuna melt. Pints also tasted awful. I’ve worked in hospitality for over 15 years and I can’t believe they’re serving food this bad. Just leaving this so that no one makes the same mistake that we did- £53 for the worst meal we’ve ever had. Go to Ikea for food instead.”

“Expect a warm family welcome at The Steam Wheeler in Glasgow—a proper family pub conveniently located near the Clyde Tunnel and King George V Dock. The dock, which was constructed in 1931, was the last major one to be created on the River Clyde. With a location rich in history and a menu packed full of pub favourites—including a traditional carvery—we’re a great place to eat out in Glasgow. Bring the whole clan, from Granny and Grandad down to the bairns, and enjoy fantastic food and a great selection of drinks, seven days a week.”
