Quick info
About Left Handed Giant Brewpub
Left Handed Giant Brewpub is a bar in Finzels on Hawkins Ln, set in a former Courage Brewery building by the river. A brewery operates on site, so the draught list is the house's own craft beers, with pale ales among them and four cask choices poured alongside. Pizzas come from a wood-fired oven and make up the food side of the menu, so a round of beer and a pizza can come from the same kitchen and brewhouse. The main room is a large beer hall bar, and a covered terrace has large screen TVs that show sporting events. Music plays through a DJ setup. The bar runs on a walk-in basis.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the brewery's own craft beers, especially the pale ales, including the Great Heist, a Raspberry Berlin Weisse that recalled summer beer gardens, and an IPA a bartender recommended after hearing what the drinker liked. A non-alcoholic ale also earned praise for not tasting alcohol free. Close behind are the wood fired pizzas, which several diners call very good, along with friendly bar staff and a lively, trendy crowd that packs the beer hall even on a Wednesday evening. The riverside setting and groups come up repeatedly. The main reservation is the music: one reviewer calls the DJ sound not their favourite, another reads the place as a young person's destination, and one finds it not cheap. Several mention the covered outdoor terrace with large screen TVs for summer sport, and one reviewer heads back every week for the run club.

“Amazing. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. They have pizzas and good ones too. So the oven is a wood fired one, classic shape making very good pizzas. Prices, are not on cheap side but ok. Beer is quite diverse, very good taste. So we're quite impressed.”

“Huge place, with DJ music (not my fave), but vibes were good and beer was excellent. Lots of people coming and going, so a class space for people watching. Didn't try the food.”

The venue was packed out when we went, and the ambiance was completely amazing. It’s got a great, lively buzz and is the perfect noisy, high-energy spot to hang out with your buddies. A massive shoutout to the bartender, who really knows his stuff—I told him what I liked, and I really enjoyed the IPA he recommended to me. If you love fantastic craft beer and a brilliant atmosphere, you have to check this place out!”
