  “Excellent meal! Went here with my parents and it was so nice! The food was excellent and the outside seating was nice! They were very welcoming to dogs, they had some treats and bowls you can fill up with fresh water for your four legged friend. I had the cheese burger and it was absolutely delicious, the patty was brilliant and was super juicy! Highly reccomend coming here for a dinner or a lunch”

  “Went to the Crofton yesterday for Croftfest, what a great day out. Excellent live music, staff attentive despite being really busy, great atmosphere. Great fun for all. Well done!!”

  “Popped in for a drink on a hot summer’s evening as we were staying nearby for a few days. Friendly, welcoming bar staff behind a well kept bar. Sat outside in a shaded area. Lovely village pub.”

  “I haven't been to the Crofton for years so thought I'd give it a try. The bar staff were very welcoming. I had a coronation chicken sandwich. It looked very nice as sandwiches go. It was a funny colour. Pink not the usual yellow colour of a coronation chicken sandwich. There was no hint of curry or sultanas or mango chutney which are all in a standard coronation chicken recipe. The other sandwich that we ordered was good. We did tell the waiter at the time. A complimentary coffee or partial refund would've been nice as I couldn't eat all of mine as it wasn't pleasant”

  “Of course! The squid was perfectly cooked, super tender, and full of flavor. The presentation was top-notch, like a fine dining experience in a cozy pub setting. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and just extraordinary. I’ll definitely be back for more!”

  “Tried the new menu over the Easter weekend and it was excellent, really good presentation and flavours, the food was already good but it has gotten even better. Had the pork belly and the burger, phenomenal. Good service from staff, some chap behind the bar was very helpful”

  “Wow! What an amazing new menu and culinary delights emerging from the newly managed kitchen at the Crofton. We were here for a lovely Mother’s Day roast and then again for the Easter lamb specials (see photos). Good hearty food, all the usual favourites, specials with expert flair, and perfect serving sizes. We’re happy to be back! (5 stars is reserved for Michelin level experiences so a 4 in my book is very good indeed).”

  “The staff were so lovely and helpful, the drinks were great and well priced, but I was servely let down by the food. All the flavours were watered down and had very little seasoning. I was utterly disappointed by dessert. I ordered the melt in the middle chocolate pudding which did not 'melt in the middle' but was in fact just a chocolate sponge and tasted quite cheap. The cheese and biscuits was an utter disaster (see photos) with a handful of crackers, grated mild cheddar which seemed to be out of a bag, a small crumbling of blue cheese and the rinds of some brie. For a £9 cheese board I would've expected better. I would return for a drink but wouldn't risk the food again.”

  “A quiet lunch Whilst avoiding the traffic chaos we decided on a croft on lunch. On arrival there was tons of space and a choice of table. We checked out the specials board and there where a few winners there for me and the wife. I opted for the teriyaki beef, the wife the homemade fish pie and a scampi for the teen. The teriyaki beef was packed full of flavour and had a good amount of rice. The fish pie was a huge letdown the veg looked like it was cooked a few days ago and reheated. Whilst the pie it's self was lacking any impact the flavours all watered down which left some texture issues and made it quite unpalatable. However the scampi was a standard deep fried scampi,but it was ok. I have been here before and the food was superb so maybe this was a one off. I can say with confidence I will come here again and hopefully it's better next time.”

  “Nestled in the village of Hill Head this huge venue has a lot to offer... Very large inside dining area and an abundance of outside seating / eating tables. The Crofton also has a huge function room with bar and skittle alley...(Photos) Louise was a fantastic host, very welcoming 🙂 The whole venue is bright and clean throughout and very tastefully decorated. It does looks stunning inside and out with its manicured gardens and smoking shelter. I had a very enjoyable visit... Thank you”
