About Cob & Pen
On Wallington Shore Road in Fareham, Cob & Pen operates as a pub and restaurant set on the waterfront road. The kitchen focuses on a short grill-led menu built around BBQ burgers and chicken topped with bacon and cheese, with drinks ordered from the bar throughout the day. Dogs are welcome on site, and children are present during daytime and evening hours. The pub also hosts private parties and events, and the room runs with a steady soundtrack of loud music. Long waits of around ten minutes or more to be served at the bar are a regular occurrence.

Customer Review Summary
Against this, a long-time regular details a marked decline under current management, describing the space as chaotic and down market, with children running unsupervised late into the evening, loud music, and waits of ten minutes or more at the bar. Another reviewer simply reports that the burger was awful. Most accounts are positive, but the management complaint is specific and recurring from that one reviewer.

“Just spent a lovely Saturday afternoon at my friends Beaten cancer party. Staff were on it and the bbq burger (in 26 degree heat-Well done cookie you must have been melting) was delicious. What a superb venue for a party. Would recommend. Thank you”

“Ladylady is so accommodating, makes me feel so welcome everytime I come down makes me feel like it’s family at the pub. I would happily go on my own but always a good time. #ILoveSam”

“This used to be a lovely traditional village pub until the current landlady took over. Sad to say that it’s gone down rapidly under her management, it feels chaotic and down market. There are children running feral late into the evening most days, loud music and inflatables. I thought there were rules about kids in pubs, but they don’t seem to apply here! The organisation and management are poor, you can regularly wait 10 minutes or more to get served at the bar. After years of being a regular, I’ve found a new establishment.”

“The staff are very friendly, and it's a family friendly pub which I love. The food is amazing quality The menu is very eye catching. Live music and events that happen here are so fun and a nice time. I highly recommend you to visit.”
