About iFood Thai Taste

iFood Thai Taste is a Thai restaurant in Exeter, at 116-117 Sidwell St, that pairs a takeaway-style counter with a private dining room for groups. The main room has a cafeteria-style layout, with water set out on the tables. Diners order and pay by QR code at the table. The menu includes stir-fry basil (pad kra pow) with chicken or pork, Panang curry with beef, and mango sticky rice for dessert. Spice is set by the diner at 1, 2 or 3 chillies, or "Thai spicy", and staff say higher levels are available. Food comes out quickly after ordering, though a wait can build at busy times.

Customer Review Summary

Pad kra pow and other basil stir-fries draw the most mentions. One reviewer picks the chicken or pork basil stir-fry, and another calls the pad kra pow fragrant and tasty. Close behind are Panang curry with beef, ginger stir-fry with chicken, chicken satay and Thai milk tea with boba. Others praise the squid starter and the mango sticky rice, with its rich coconut flavour and fresh, sweet mango. Reviewers repeatedly describe fresh ingredients, generous portions, hot food arriving quickly and friendly staff. A few say the online and table ordering ran smoothly. The complaints are specific. One diner who asked for the pad kra pow at 3X spicy found it had no heat at all. Another calls the food only okay and says prices have climbed over the years, which feels opportunistic for a place that never seems short of customers. Several like choosing one, two or three chillies, and one reviewer learned from a waitress that hotter levels exist beyond three.

“This restaurant's food will bring you to tears, genuinely. As a local, I think ifood is one of the best, if not, the best restaurant in town. If you want authentic Thai food, look no further. The atmosphere is always pleasant, and the staff are extremely helpful. Food is sometimes at the table in under 10 minutes. My top menu picks: Stir-fry Basil Leaves w/ Chicken or Pork, Stir-fry Ginger w/ Chicken, Panang Curry w/ Beef, Chicken Satay 4pc, and Thai Milk Tea w/ boba. Would 100% recommend if visiting.”

“Great place for great food.... I live not far from this place and its my number one place for eating out... you can eat in or out and the wait is not usually very long except at very busy times where you can wait 25 mins but worth the wait... recommended.”
