“I've eaten in two of the Portal pizzerias in Exeter and both have been an amazing experience. The way they make the dough is just right! It's a perfect combination between a NY style base and neopolitan-ish quality ingredients and bold combinations. Add the rich and natural tomato base and you've got yourself a winner! This time I tried their pepperoni and birria pizza and both were really good, especially the birria one which I've never had before. The house salad was also good and the vibes of the places are just right! Keep it up!”

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the pizza itself, praising a base that is crispy outside and chewy within, with one noting the properly cooked underside. Specific orders named include the Smokey Mountain with chilli flakes and blue cheese, the Nennella, a pepperoni pizza and a birria pizza, with the meat half of a half-and-half big pizza called the standout over the margherita. Close behind are the friendly staff and a relaxed, buzzy atmosphere, while the house salad, crust dips, tomato salad and sweet potato wedges get a mention as sides. Several call it the best pizza in Exeter, and one notes a large party handled well. A few point out that tables are secured by talking to the team, since no reservations are possible online. The one critical reviewer describes toppings only in the middle of the pizza and being given the wrong pizza, and also alleges that positive reviews appeared from fake accounts shortly after the owner replied. Another party of eight finished with eight empty plates.
