About Costa
Costa is a coffee shop on Cramond Rd S in Edinburgh, serving on a walk-in basis with no reservations taken. The counter handles both in-person orders and app orders picked up on arrival. Outdoor seating sits to the front, and dogs are welcome to join customers there, while a step-free entrance allows easy access for visitors with mobility needs. Families with young children are catered for with high chairs. Toilet access works via a code printed at the bottom of the receipt, so a purchase is needed before using the facilities. The shop opens daily and tends to get busy on Saturday mornings. A Royal Mail post box stands just outside, and parking is available in the adjacent Tesco car park for those stopping by briefly.

Customer Review Summary
Staff attitude divides reviewers most. Several describe friendly, polite service and a clean store, toilets included, with one praising the manager's relationship with staff and another noting a wider food choice than at other Costas. Others describe staff standing with blank or miffed faces, one or two disinterested and frowning, and one reviewer calls a senior person's treatment of young workers bullying behaviour. The second recurring complaint is order accuracy. One parent says a decaf was handed over, then remade without a word when questioned, and that their children's chocolate fudge lattes arrived with coffee in them. Two cinnamon buns were never handed over either. One reviewer reports a past reaction after being given regular coffee instead of decaf. A study visit was spoiled by what one reviewer calls appalling WiFi and worse mobile signal. Dog owners value the covered outdoor area, where dogs stay outside while orders are placed inside. Ordering through the app lets customers go straight to the counter on a busy Saturday morning, and a code at the bottom of the receipt opens the toilets.

“Rated 1 star for atmosphere because I thought the way the senior person in charge communicated with the young workers disgusting. I would go so far to say bullying behaviour. She was on a power trip. I know the staff turnover in this store is high and there are previous reviews that staff look miserable. I'm not surprised. I would be too if I worked for this woman. It's managers like this that can ruin a young persons confidence. I would not let my kids work in this store if she was in charge. We should be building confidence in our young people not knocking the confidence out of them! I've noticed this a few times now in this Costa store. It needs addressed.”

“Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff were polite. Minimal interaction required as no problems needing dealt with. Disappointed though as I came here to study for a few hours prior to an engagement in the area and found the WiFi to be absolutely appalling and the mobile signal to be worse. I haven’t experienced this from a Costa before. So very nice for a social visit, not suitable for work / study if needing WiFi.”

“It's a Costa so you know what you're getting. It was clean, tidy, spacious, fresh and I would certainly use it again. The staff were a mixture of very nice but one or two were at best disinterested and frowning, particularly the young lady with shoulder-length dark hair. But I would return. The toilet I used was very clean.”

“Staff were all stood with blank or miffed off faces. Quite the hostile environment was very obvious staff didnt want to be there only one had bare minimum manners”
