About CJ's Cafe
CJ's Cafe is a small cafe at 135 Dalry Rd in Edinburgh, and its decor has been updated. Breakfast anchors the menu, led by a mega breakfast that comes with a veggie option, so vegetarians have a full plate to order too. A proper Scottish breakfast sits alongside it for anyone who wants the traditional version. Portions are large and filling, which suits a big appetite. The kitchen also serves a cheeseburger with thick, chunky chips, a heartier choice away from the breakfast list.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come back most for the full Scottish breakfast, with the vegetarian full breakfast and a "mega breakfast" singled out as massive portions that some could not finish and took away. Close behind are the staff, described repeatedly as friendly, and the owner, called bubbly and welcoming. Prices come up often as great value. Beyond breakfast, diners praise a cheeseburger with thick, chunky chips that are crispy outside and fluffy inside, and a first-ever mac and cheese one reviewer loved. Several call the food straightforward and filling, and one notes the updated decor feels warm and welcoming. The one critical account comes from a regular who ordered a bacon and egg roll with an underdone egg. When they mentioned it, they describe staff giving attitude, talking about them as if they weren't there, and they left without eating the roll or drinking their tea, though they added that one man there was fantastic and friendly.

“Normally a great wee place the staff are usually really friendly and decent. Been there many times with no issues. Went in today got a bacon and egg roll which I often have and is normally amazing, the egg was really underdone and when I mentioned it the attitude from the staff was horrendous they wouldn’t let me speak just gave me total attitude then started talking about me as if I wasn’t there. in the end I paid and walk out without eating the roll or drinking the tea, the guy however was absolutely fantastic really nice and friendly.”
