About Tiles Bar
Tiles Bar is a pub in Edinburgh, on St Andrew Sq, set in the former Prudential building. Its interior is tiled from floor to ceiling, which gives drinkers and diners a room that is tiled on every surface. The pub opens daily, and the kitchen serves homemade food until late, so it works for late-night meals. The menu includes haggis, neeps and tatties, the national dish of Scotland, and cocktails and other drinks come alongside the food. Guests order at the bar. Tiles has served locals and visitors for over 25 years.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise fast, friendly service, even when the bar is packed and squeezing through to order is difficult. Food comes close behind, with haggis, neeps and tatties called very good, the cooking described as homemade, and one diner surprised by the quality at a place expected to focus on drinks. One reviewer ranks the cocktail among the best they have tried. The tiled interior, covered floor to ceiling, and the terrace near St Andrew Square also draw praise. On the downside, one terrace visitor complains of cigarette smoke blowing into their face, and one reviewer reports staff laughing at them while ordering, leaving them feeling unwelcome and walking out without finishing the drink. One diner also warns the soup may not suit everyone. Another recalls a staff member running down the street to return a forgotten phone case.

“I visited a few years ago and had an excellent experience. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and the staff kindly accommodated my request to swap the mash for a salad. Great location near the park.”

“I had a very disappointing experience. Some of the staff laughed at me while I was placing my order, which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I decided to leave without finishing my drink. I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I believe customers should be able to enjoy their visit without feeling judged or ridiculed. I hope the management ensures that all customers are treated with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or nationality.”

Service is provided by the Scottish staff members in the most iconic building where you can experience the traditional food and culture . Delicious food , drinks and the advice taken from the members of staff specifically Thomas was the best.”

“The place over all is very nice, located near the center. You can try the national dish of Scotland “Haggies Neep & Tatties”, which is very good. Make sure to ask about the soup it may not be to everyone’s taste.”
