About St Bernard's Bar
St Bernard's Bar is a bar on Raeburn Place in Edinburgh, where a sharing-table policy seats guests alongside one another and drinks arrive in antique crystal glasses. Curiosities hang from the ceiling, and the walls and shelves carry nic-nacs and memorabilia. Music comes from vinyl, played on a record player behind the bar. The drinks list covers rotating cask ales, beer on tap, craft lager and a local draft ginger beer, and staff offer small taster samples from the beer selection. The cocktail menu is extensive, with a lychee martini and a Hugo Spritzless among its options and seasonal specials added to the list. The bar runs across two floors, with a second bar upstairs. Service is to the table only.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the quirkiness, with walls, ceilings and shelves covered in knick-knacks and memorabilia, and a speakeasy feel on the second floor. Music played only from vinyl records comes up repeatedly, described as eclectic and good oldies. Cocktails come close behind, with the lychee martini and the Hugo Spritzless named, while others mention a craft lager, a good beer selection and the draft ginger beer. Staff are widely described as friendly, funny and welcoming, with tiny taster samples and several beers offered to try, and one reviewer says it felt like being greeted by friends. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who found a bartender upstairs incredibly rude, and who saw her and two colleagues sitting down while customers waited to order or had just arrived. That reviewer still called the place lovely and its decor impressive. Table service only is noted by another, and several reviewers say they would happily return.

“The coolest , quirkiest bar I’ve been to in Edinburgh! We had a walk around Stockbridge and found this little treasure. Music played is from vinyl , the craft lager was easy drinking and the cocktails were bloody amazing. Lychee martini for the win!”

“St Bernard’s is great! We had a local ginger beer with snacks. The staff were so welcoming and offered us several beers to try. But the ginger beer was the best! Totally recommend.”
