Quick info
About Delhi 39
Delhi 39 is an Indian restaurant on High Street in Eastleigh, running a menu that ranges from biryanis and keema naan to garlic chilli chicken, lamb dansak, prawn purée, zeera rice and onion bahjees. The kitchen also appears at the Mela food festival as a stand, taking the same dishes beyond the High Street kitchen. Diners order at the counter for collection, and delivery runs alongside to surrounding streets, with food turning up piping hot. The room sits in the centre of town and keeps a steady evening service through the week. Lamb dansak and zeera rice both come up as standouts on the menu, and the garlic chilli chicken is a regular order for those who like a sharper, spiced bite.

Customer Review Summary
Diners single out the food, with the biryani and the lamb dansak drawing repeated praise for being fresh, flavoursome and well cooked. Close behind, several name the Garlic Chilli Chicken and the Prawn Purée as standouts, and Zeera Rice gets a specific callout as well. The service earns near-unanimous mention for being friendly and polite, both in the restaurant and at the door for deliveries, and many reviewers note the food arriving piping hot. A few, however, point to a real drop in quality on later visits: one returning customer describes a biryani that arrived cold with dry chicken, and another, ordering from the Mela stall, calls the portions tiny and the curry lacking depth. Several reviewers urge others to give it a try, while one long-time fan, despite that cold re-order, still recommended the restaurant to friends and family before the bad experience.

“EDIT: Re ordered tonight as was so impressed last time. Food arrived and it was really cold. Chicken was extremely dry in biryani. Such a shame as I really enjoyed the place before and also recommended to friends and family.
