Customer Review Summary

Coffee is the most frequent draw, with reviewers calling it very good, one of the best in Doncaster and to die for, and noting several dairy alternatives plus an iced mocha that suited a hot day. Close behind is food described as excellent, from avocado on toasted sourdough with poached eggs to a bacon pancake stack, a biscoff scone and a beef sandwich with just enough horseradish. A Jasmine flower tea arrived beautifully presented with a warming system, and one birthday afternoon tea came with enough left over to take home. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and the menu earns notice for its vegetarian and vegan choices. The main complaint is a steak and eggs plate where the steak was overcooked, with fatty pieces and some gristle, and the diner was never asked how it should be cooked. Another guest on the afternoon tea wasn't told tea and coffee were included when first asked about drinks. The steak diner still called the presentation great and said they would visit again.

“I met a friend there and we had a late breakfast. The staff and the food was lovely. The ambience of the place makes it one of the nicer places to meet in Doncaster, and I say that as an ex Londoner, who knows nice places. Probably never be able to get a table in there again after this review. Lol. I wish Doncaster had more places of this standard, even for evening drinks. Fingers crossed eh!?”

“Visited with 2 friends for lunch. Excellent food and customer service from start to finish! Isabelle looked after us so well. I had avocado on toasted sourdough with 2 poached eggs....followed by a delicious biscoff scone! Definitely recommend a visit!”

“This is one of those places I've been meaning to get to and haven't until recently. This gem of a place is staffed by genuinely attentive and friendly people, who's goal is ensuring you have a great time. They coped really well with three distinct sets of dietary requirements effortlessly, and showed an awareness that would make authors of the EYFS clap! I was particularly pleased to see the gluten free option arriving on its own stand to further avoid any risk of cross contamination. There was a minor hiccup, but this was effectively resolved with zero fuss. The food is fantastic with savoury delighting just as much as sweet. I don't know who is making their sandwiches, but they have a great eye for taste balances. Just enough horse radish on the beef to lift the taste, not so much that's all you can taste through your clearing sinuses. This is not an easy balance to achieve, and reflects the eye for detail that is prevalent in everything here. Even the toilets are thoughtfully laid out. There are children's seats and a step stool that make the bathroom feel very 'home from home', and this will help massively when taking little ones. While everything is on hand, the area doesn't feel cluttered or cramped. Our server Isabelle, and Ant, managed the holy grail of attention. They were unobtrusively on hand without saturating the table in attention. I highly recommend this venue, although it's not the cheapest. I'll certainly be back.”
