Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the beer range, with craft and cask sitting side by side, and diners single out a sour beer described as divine and a Docks brewery pale ale. Close behind is the music: a juke box repeatedly called brilliant or superb, 90s rock, a blues band on a bank holiday Saturday night, and an open mike with lots of performers. Several mention friendly, knowledgeable bar staff, including a warm welcome for a first-time visitor to Doncaster. A well run Thursday pub quiz is free and gives out chip butties. Tables outside get a mention in warmer weather. The caveats are small but specific. One reviewer found the clientele a bit sketchy, though entertaining, and an older visitor felt the place is young, dark and on trend, with loud, strange music that drove his companion outside and left him missing Motown. Another noticed a small step at the entrance and no ramp, and the loos are downstairs. One reviewer closes on being given a free chip butty at the quiz.

“No idea about food as we didn't have any. Service fine. It does have an atmosphere, although the clientele were a bit sketchy! Entertaining though!”

“Absolutely loved it here. 1st pub in Doncaster as we were visiting the area. Lovely warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Just brilliant”

“I think it is just one of the oldest pubs in Doncaster right in the heart of the city and market place. Lovely atmosphere and the loos are downstairs! They offer different beers. I'm not sure if food is served. There are a few tables outside, lovely in the warmer weather. There is not a ramp for wheelchair users that I have seen there is a small step as you go in . All in all a good watering hole lol”
