About Cumberland
Cumberland is a large pub on Thorne Rd in Doncaster, serving pub food from its Hungry Horse menu. The kitchen cooks fish & chips, steak & ale pie and a mixed grill, and a roast dinner comes with a vegetarian option. Live matches play on TVs tuned to Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so the bar works as a place to follow the sport. The pub also hosts a quiz night, and dogs are welcome. The car park charges for parking, and the ticket is redeemed at the bar and taken off the bill.

Customer Review Summary
Staff are the most consistent draw, described as friendly, helpful and welcoming, with one reviewer saying nothing is too much for them. Food gets a more mixed reception. A party of six called the Sunday roast with a pudding very good value, others liked a curry, a pie, wraps and onion rings, and one enjoyed dishes from the new menu. The Tuesday quiz is called a good laugh, and the beer is called good. Complaints centre on the kitchen. One roast came with disappointing yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, cold peas and a horseradish that never arrived. A mixed grill had chicken that seemed microwaved and a sausage too tough to cut. Another diner got a dry burger, a well done steak ordered medium rare, and gelatinous wings. Parking draws mixed comments. Several say the ticket is redeemed at the bar and taken off the bill, but one reviewer received a fine after seeing no signs.

“The staff who work there are very helpful, nothing is too much for them. All different age groups can go there. There have an outdoor seating etc. It's good to park in there carpark because afterwards you can use your ticket to get a reduced off your bill with whatever you have in the place.”

“Came on a Friday afternoon for food & a couple of drinks. Food was lovely, great offers on. Was quite busy but not packed out, found a table easily in a quiet corner. Not been up here for a while but great to see it's still as lovely as it always has been.”
