Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, singling out home made lasagne and steak and ale pie, with one calling the ribeye among the best steaks they have had. Starters of Mushroom and Brie bake, nachos and chicken strips also get mentions, as do Ranchers Chicken with home made chips. Several describe a spruced up pub under new owners, welcoming and homely, with friendly, attentive staff, big portions and a relaxed atmosphere for groups of friends. The criticism is narrower. One Sunday lunch diner found the dessert tasted as if left too long in the microwave, was twice asked to vacate the table while the rest of the restaurant was empty, and was given an incorrect bill twice. Another reviewer notes a long wait at the bar on a busy Sunday. One party of ten who pre-ordered their food said every plate reached the table at the same time.

“Food was nice enough, just a typical pub Sunday lunch. Service was scatty, were given notice to vacate the table while we were still waiting for desert menus. Desert left much to be desired and tasted as if it had been left in microwave too long. We were again asked to vacate the table - despite the rest of the restaurant being empty. The bill was incorrect - twice!”

“We recently booked a table for a party of 10 for a Friday night and were sat in a great spot in the dining room with a lovely atmosphere. Our food had already been pre-ordered earlier in the week so we didn't have to wait at all for it to be served and everyone's arrived all the same time. Both the bar staff and waiting on staff were extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. We all agreed that the food was fabulous and were all so full up, we didn't have room for desert! A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all and we will definitely be returning. Thank you.”
