  “Stopped here for a light lunch . First ever visit. A warm and welcoming place. Opted for a ploughmans sandwich was not disappointed huge and came with fries . Very good food and value for money. Will be returning soon.10/10.many thanks.”

  “Went today for lunch. Good food and the gluten free braised steak sandwich the best.So soft and tender and the pot of gravy an added bonus. Lovely friendly staff. Will definitely go back and reccomend. Hubby had the cod loin said it was really tasty. Thankyou for a lovely lunch in a lovely atmosphere. Lovely outside area as well.”

  “Had a lovely meal for 4. Great vegan menu, delicious home cooked wholesome food. Starters were such good portions. The white French onion soup was exquisite. Beef+mushroom stroganoff with home made chunky chips was delicious Nice ambience. Easy parking. Would def recommend.”

  “Great traditional pub with excellent food. Varied menu, really nice roast dinners on Sunday (and bank holiday Mondays). Staff were great. Good range of beers, wines and spirits. Quite a sizable carpark facing (but spaces are a little on the tight size).”

  “A great countryside spot with a strong food menu and a really good atmosphere. It’s always busy, which gives it a nice buzz, and it’s dog friendly too. We went for The Dressers Deal. A meal for two from £42, served all day every day and including a bottle of wine - hard to ignore and it certainly got my attention. Food quality was spot on. Portions are generous without being silly, making this a great place to go when I’ve got a big appetite. The chips are massive and perfectly cooked (as you can probably tell from the pic). One of those meals where everything just hits as it should. There are some really good deals, but also a good selection on the main menu, so you’re not locked into offers if you fancy something else. Ideal for a weekend lunch or an evening treat, especially if you combine it with a walk nearby. Definitely worth making a trip rather than just stumbling across it. Verdict: Great value, great setting and consistently good food. An easy recommendation.”

  “Used to be my favorite pub when I lived in the area 6 years ago. Thought I'd give it a try today and it's actually even better than it used to be. Excellent service, warm log fire going and the food was fantastic. Both meals we're exceptional. I had the chilli which had huge chunks of steak in it that just melted in your mouth. It was a little spicier than I'm used to so they brought me extra sour cream and it was amazing. Hubby had the pork steak and literally licked his plate clean.”

  “Went for lunch on a February Saturday. Great experience, food was really tasty pub classics. I had the cheese and onion pie which was spot on. Waiting staff were friendly and welcoming. Was quiet at 12 when we arrived. But busied up over lunch. Would recommend.”
