About Malthouse Farm
Malthouse Farm is a pub on Moss Ln in Chorley, open daily and serving traditional British dishes. The beer garden overlooks the canal and has sofa areas and heaters for chilly nights, plus a decking area with reserved tables. Dog owners get a small area by the bar, so a pet can stay close to the table. Inside, the pub has been recently refurbished and has wooden beams, fairy lights and a real fire. Christmas decorations go up around it in the festive period. Tables are spaced so groups are not seated too close together.

Customer Review Summary
Food draws the most praise, led by a brie cheese toastie one diner called the greatest they had eaten, a lamb shank shepherd's pie served piping hot, a roast dinner, and a lemon bomb cheesecake described as unreal. Close behind is the setting, which several say looks beautiful after a recent refurbishment, with a beer garden, outdoor heaters and canal views outside, and a real fire, fairy lights and wooden beams indoors. Guests staying at the neighbouring hotel mention eating here. Servers are called attentive and friendly, and one reviewer with a food allergy says staff were very careful with their needs. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the main food tasted frozen or microwave cooked, while another thought the crispy squid could have been crispier. One also notes the decking had restricted seating because of reserved tables. There is a small area for dogs near the bar, and one reviewer's dog enjoyed head scratches and sausages.

“We had a lovely afternoon in the beer garden area today. It was really busy as the weather was great again ☀️ we luckily got the last comfy sofa area just as it became free. Eleanor served our drinks and immediately cleared away the previous customers glasses and extra seating. Had a chilled afternoon with a couple of Aperol Spritz 🍹 It’s a beautiful setting and has been recently refurbished, earlier this year maybe? . The staff were really attentive and on the ball cleaning empties away. The decking area looks like a great place to sit but was restricted seating due to reserved tables. We will definitely be returning very soon.”

“This is such a lovely place to come to, with my food allergy I can feel quite nervous but they are very careful to make sure I’m okay! I also come here with my grandparents and they make them feel so welcome, like this is their second home!! A big big thank you to Ahmet who goes above and beyond for me and my family, he is a credit to your business, thank you, Victoria”

“Took my parents tonight and couldn’t really fault anything. The crispy squid could have been a bit more crispy but that’s nit picking. Overall every dish was bang on. The lemon bomb cheesecake was unreal! Servers were attentive and friendly. Looks really good after the refurb. Can tell a lot of effort is put into this place. Thanks ☺️”
