Customer Review Summary
Coffee picked up before a train is the most common draw at this station cafe, and diners call it lovely and good. Close behind is the team, described repeatedly as friendly, welcoming and helpful, including early in the morning. Pastries and sandwiches get mentioned as a good selection, and one diner says the food is freshly made to order. The complaints are specific. One customer objects to an extra charge for soya milk, especially for someone with an intolerance to regular milk, calls the staff abrupt and unwelcoming, and says the coffee is already expensive compared with the high street. Another did not like the food and noticed uneaten sandwiches left on nearby tables. A third calls it usually a lovely spot for a takeaway coffee while waiting for the train. One diner singles out bacon and egg baps as outstanding, with large fresh rolls and plenty of bacon.

Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go above and beyond to make customers feel valued. The food is freshly made to order and is consistently delicious. The whole team is always happy, positive, and creates a warm atmosphere that keeps people coming back. It’s clear they take pride in what they do, and it really shows. I would highly recommend Hearty Hare Café to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a genuinely friendly experience.”

“I can only speak from my experience but just the most lovely and welcoming team. Really brighten your day at 6:15am! Lovely coffee too!”

“A charge for soya milk at 40p is ridiculous, specially when someone has a intolerance to normal milk. I can agree with a charge for Oat and other kinds, but soya milk should be free. The staff very abrupt and unwelcoming. Coffee price is expensive so the added 40p would make it more than the high street.”
