About The Summer Cafe
The Summer Cafe is a cafe in Malmesbury at 4 High St, near the Market Cross. The indoor area welcomes dogs, so owners can sit inside with them. The cake display features a homemade gluten-free pistachio, coconut and lime cake, which gives anyone avoiding gluten a sweet option. The menu also includes a homemade spinach and feta quiche, with a wide choice of salads for lunch, and breakfast wraps for brunch. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes sit alongside the meat options, so mixed tables can order from one menu. The cafe is open daily, and the seating has space for groups as well as couples.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade quiche and a big choice of salads draw the most praise, with the spinach and feta quiche singled out and one diner calling the salad selection immense. Coffee comes close behind, with several calling it very good, and one reviewer recommends the chai latte. The menu's range earns repeated credit: a vegan bowl described as surprisingly filling, freshly cooked breakfast wraps, homemade carrot cake, and plenty of gluten free options, including a pistachio, coconut and lime cake. Reviewers consistently describe the staff as friendly, helpful and polite, and the room as warm and cosy, with space for groups as well as couples. The recurring complaint is cost. Two reviewers call it slightly expensive or not particularly cheap, and one notes the same sandwich costs far more eaten in than taken away. One reviewer mentions fussy small children at nearby tables but enjoyed the atmosphere anyway. Another liked the indoor area for bringing a dog, where the breakfast wraps arrived freshly cooked.

“Had brunch at The Summer Cafe today, as we were visiting the area and remembered it was good when we’d previously been a couple of years ago. Great food and coffee, lots of choice and plenty of gluten free options (including a delicious GF pistachio, coconut & lime cake). Friendly staff too. Would definitely recommend and would revisit again next time we’re nearby.”

“Great food, lovely service, slightly expensive to eat in. Takeaway sandwich was very cheap (£6), but the eat in version of the same food is £15”

“Just had a spontaneous lunch, delicious home made quiche and immense salad choice and then homemade carrot cake with a new iced foamed latte. Excellent. Thank you Matt and Debs.”
