About The Greyhound
The Greyhound is a pub on High St in Chippenham, and its garden hosts the Hound Food Shack, which serves kebabs. Inside, the kitchen runs a carvery with a large Yorkshire pudding, and a separate lunch menu offers a different selection of dishes earlier in the day. At the bar, 6X is served by the pint. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the pub's food, and the pork belly comes up repeatedly, praised alongside garlic mushrooms and a chocolate brownie described as warm and a sharing portion. Close behind are the Sunday-style carvery, where the beef is called melt in the mouth with cauliflower cheese, leek gratin and a huge Yorkshire pudding, and the fish and chips, mushroom pie and steak pie. One reviewer also praised a kebab from the garden food shack. Staff are consistently called friendly, with several noting walk-ins seated quickly, one party's tables shuffled to fit two dogs, and diners encouraged to order ahead of a large group. The garden gets repeated praise, and a pint of 6X earns a mention. The main caveat is portion size: one reviewer found the sea bream and nut roast small enough to leave them hungry, and the fries arrived in a tiny tin cup, so they suggest ordering chips instead. Another reviewer celebrated a Golden Wedding here with the steak pie.

“While visiting the area, we stopped by The Greyhound in Bromham and had food from the Hound Food Shack in the garden. I can honestly say it was the best kebab I’ve ever had absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The garden is beautiful and provides a lovely setting to relax and enjoy your meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was attentive throughout our visit without being intrusive. A fantastic experience from start to finish. Great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!”

“We stopped off at the Greyhound after a visit to the village and abby at Lacock. We saw this establishment had a 4.7 rating, which helped us choose. We were very pleaded with our choice, and the Greyhound lived up to it's rating. The restaurant is extremely pleasantly laid out. The staff are warm, helpful and welcoming (we did not have a reservation) a seated us very quickly. The service was prompt, but not pushy. Our order was taken and I'm around 15 minutes our meals were ready. The food was excellent, tasty and filling. We only had a main each, but there was plenty of variety to choose from. There is also a suoer beer garden you can sit in and enjoy a pint on a summer evening This is definitely one to remember.”
