About Boathouse Chichester
Overlooking the water in Chichester Marina, Boathouse Chichester is a restaurant on Marina with views across the harbor. The kitchen serves monkfish as a main, and the extensive wine list gives diners plenty to choose from alongside their meal. A separate Boathouse cafe sits next door and serves cakes, rolls and panini, which gives visitors a second place to stop at the marina. Dogs are welcome, so guests can bring their pets along.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, naming the monkfish, beef brisket, shank of lamb and fish and chips, while one reviewer calls a panini from the linked cafe the best they have eaten. Close behind are the marina setting and sunset views, the extensive wine list, and friendly, attentive staff who kept service going on a scorching day despite being short staffed. The criticism is sharper but less common. One reviewer found the BBQ food seemed reheated from frozen, with rubbery squid and a crayfish dish that was mostly chips. Another found the aubergine weaker than the rest of a winter lunch menu. One reviewer reports that two servers appeared to mock their Asian party when they asked for the bill. Reviewers also describe a cool latte replaced with a fresh, piping hot one, and a waitress arranging a personalised birthday message at the end of a family lunch.

“The food and sunset was great however, if only the servers makes us feel more welcome eventhough were asians. They were in a hurry to take our orders and feels like mocking us with just water on the first time they ask us for order because we can't decide yet. Lastly, when we asked for the bill we saw them (2 lady servers) mocking how I said it. Very unprofessional, but felt bad for them because they seem unhappy with their job. The welcoming guy was nice though.”

“I didn't like the food at all. Despite encouraging the BBQ idea, the food seemed to be reheated from frozen. The BBQ crayfish was in fact a tray of chips with an Indian-like sauce ,cheese a tiny amount of crayfish dressing...disappointing. The BBQ squid was actually buttered and had a rubbery texture. The BBQ corn seemed to be cooked before and reheated on the BBQ, which is a completely different taste sensation.”

“We had a really great day out and ended it at the boathouse. They staff here were really friendly. Our server was Sophie. She was absolutely incredible and we spent our night laughing and joking about. She made us feel like we weren’t just customers but friends which we absolutely adored.”

“Visited in the hottest day in record, it was scorching hot at 6pm, the team was trying really hard to deliver a decent service, others would have walked out , they were clearly short staffed but still food was delicious and they were attentive and friendly. Location is beautiful, well worth for a sunset dinner during the summer months. Well-done to the team working today!”
