  “Food was grand and the burger held togetger quite well.. i knocked off a star for service as people pushed to the front of the queue and it was not noticed... We went as a family with small kids, we got sat next to a group of young males who were having a good time, and kept swearing, but the young man behind the bar with a tattoo behind his ear come and asked that all swearing stopped and pointed out that they were sat next to little kids. Which doesn't happen much these days and it was nice to have staff who have that value.”

  “Excellent food. Staff sorted us a table that was suitable for us to have our dog come in with us (we pre arranged this with them) which was very helpful as she was still very new to us and had issues being left anywhere... so many thanks to them.. :)”

  “First time been in today for my birthday my husband and I From coming in they were very friendly The food was fabulous 👌 And the lovely lass that brought the food to us table 7 or 9 was brilliant Thankyou we will be back very soon”

  “Extra points for the name. Sit down style pub on the outside of Chesterfield, near the football ground. Seemed very friendly. Most people there eating, so not a party place. Probably nicer in summer with an outdoor section. Will be busy if there is football on that day. Seemed alright”

  “My family and I went to Donkey Derby for Christmas Lunch today. 15 of us. I was worried that the meal wouldn’t be great and the meals would be small, but Wow what a meal. It was fantastic. There was so much food that none of us finished our plates. The turkey was beautifully cooked. The veg was perfect too. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It’s the first time in 30 years I’ve been out for Christmas lunch. But we will be doing it again next year. Donkey Derby please tell me when your bookings open 👍”

  “Massive pub with lots of choice on the menu! I recommend the tater totts, which were a ferm fav with our table. I had a sizzler with the tikka masala sauce which was divine and like nothing I've had anywhere. Fresh hot food at a great price. I had the raspberry old moot to accompany, but there was loads of drinks choice too. We were stuffed, but really enjoyed our meals. Planning to return soon, thanks to all the team for a lovely meal / evening out”

  “Came here for a family meal out. Our first visit and we was not disappointed. The pub is decorated to a very good standard with a warm and welcomimg feel, the staff were really polite and courteous too and the food menu was very extensive and exciting. Of course we had to try the platters and had our 1st taste of chicken burger with candy floss cola dip n sherbet dib dab lol which was tastebud tantalizing to say the least... Popcorn with cola sauce too. Portions were more than generous and worth every penny. Was delighted to find an outside play area at the back of the pub for the little ones. Had a wondeful time here and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this venue you will not be disappointed. Thankyou to all the staff for a memorable day out. Much appreciated.”

  “Locall pub, close to the centre of town, and a great social house the local football ground! ⚽️ Hospitality: 5/5 Service was excellent. They made sure I was looked after despite increasing volumes of people pre-preparing for the up coming spirites match. Food: 4/5 Food quality a options were better than I expected. For all things considered: waiting time on meals was well on track from ordering to serving. The cheeseburger and garlic bread was good a cooked very well. 🍔 For desert I wasn't expecting much cause I also love a biscoff cheesecake. Building: 5/5 Seen the layout for years and the design has always fit well with each changing year despite hardly anything ever changing.”
