About Blue Stoops
Blue Stoops is a pub in Chesterfield, at 20 Matlock Rd, with a quiz night every Thursday that gives the week a regular fixture. The kitchen cooks its food at home, and the weekday menu includes cheese toasties and the stoop burger. Mains such as pie and chicken come with chips and wedges, and Sunday lunch is served as well. At the public bar, real ale and bitter are on the pumps. The pub also has a restaurant area, and dogs are welcome to join their owners there.

Customer Review Summary
Food draws most of the praise at this pub, with reviewers singling out the stoop burger, braised beef with mash and red wine gravy, and tandoori chicken with masala sauce. One calls the cheese toasties great. Several describe the cooking as home cooked, delicious and beautiful, and a few mention friendly, welcoming staff, including a landlord and a server who made a table laugh. Close behind, one reviewer calls the bitter spot on and another says the real ale is best. Dogs being welcome and the air con also get a mention. The recurring complaint is inconsistent cooking. One diner found chicken Diane overcooked on one side, with undercooked wedges and a dry pie. Another says Sunday dinner had no real mash or gravy, and a third says the chips have gone soft and soggy. One group's Christmas booking also went wrong. After paying a deposit and giving menu choices, they were told no Christmas menu runs on Sundays, and the deposit was not deducted at payment until their receipts settled it quickly.

“Two errors by the staff were not enough to drop a star. First booked and paid a deposit for a Christmas meal, only to be phone a week before and after paying deposit and handing inemi choices in advance, that they don't do Christmas menu on Sundays. Then when paying they forgot to deduct the deposit which ment having to go back to resolve We had the receipts so was quickly resolved”
