  “We fancied a steak and as I drive past this place so often, I thought we'd give it a try and we were not let down. The staff were all very good, they were attentive and made the visit feel special. Abby was our main water, he was funny, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He did a great job. We went on a Wednesday night, but the place was alive and kicking. A great atmosphere for a weekday. But the food was what won me over. We split a chateaubriand steak, and you get 2 sides and sauces for free. We had it well done with blue cheese and malbec sauce with hasselback potatoes and sautéed mushrooms and it was lovely. It tasted so good I kept eating when full.”

  “Excellent lunch spot in Cheltenham! ​We spotted Sef Steakhouse while out shopping in Cheltenham and decided to stop in for their lunch set menu. I'm so glad we did! The food was absolute top quality and exceptional value. ​We sat outside in the sun, which is a fantastic spot for eating and watching the busy town pass by. The service was brilliant, our waiter was friendly, and the staff were attentive to the dining environment, proactively moving people who were vaping away from the outdoor eating area. That attention to detail made sitting outside so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend, especially for lunch!”

  “First time visiting Sef's Sadly it didn't live up to expectations and I did not find it good value for money. Initial welcome was good - however no offer of drinks when being seated. When our server came over there was no hi how are you.. what's brings you to us. No interaction. We were not asked if we had any dietary requirements. Felt very disengaging. We ordered the caveman. Sadly this was very chewy despite having it medium as recommended - this was the only conversation that was really given to us. We had no check back and even when we was cleared - we was not asked how the steak was or if we enjoyed our steak due to how much was left. The steak arrived sliced which wasn't sliced the best. It was very fatty and apparent - the chef would have seen this being plating it up. Overall the experience was not what I had expected. Paid service as I felt uncomfortable to say anything.”

  “Visited Sef Steakhouse with my wife and came away a bit disappointed overall, especially considering the £150 bill for two courses and a couple of glasses of wine. To start, we both had the scallops. Unfortunately they were grainy in texture, which spoiled the dish a little, and the rice crispies on top didn’t really add anything for us. For mains, my wife’s sirloin was lovely and cooked well. My rib eye however was poor. I ordered it medium so the fat would properly render, but it arrived much closer to rare. Several sections were extremely fatty to the point I had to spit parts out, which isn’t what you expect from a quality steak restaurant. The peppercorn sauce was also quite bitter, so I ended up leaving most of it. On the positive side, the hasselback potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli were all very nice, and the staff throughout were friendly and welcoming. Overall, there were definitely some good elements, but for the price point we both expected a much better standard, particularly from the rib eye”

  “Great atmosphere here! The food was fabulous and from the 4 steaks we ordered there was not one niggle or complaint, it was too notch. I has hassleback potatoes but the rocket with Parmesan looked fabulous (food envy!). The fillet ordered by one of the others in our party was also amazing. Josh who served us was absolutely great, brilliant service! Nothing was too much trouble and condiments came on the plate! My husband mentioned English mustard (when asked if he wanted a sauce when ordering) and it came on the plate in a pot with the steak - that's a first, normally they trot off to get it after while your steak gets cold but not here! Drinks were great and the cocktails looked amazing.”

  “Treated by my 18 year old son for my birthday. Glad to say the food was delicious and the service fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful waitress. Was surprised not to be asked about whether we had any allergies and was disappointing that the service charge isn’t mention up front seeing as the prices are already high.”

  “The exceptionally friendly service makes the restaurant a truly enjoyable experience from the moment you enter. As for the food, from the starters, through the main courses, and even the desserts, everything was delicious. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the venison was delicious, and the bone marrow melted in your mouth and paired perfectly with the onion salad. If you're a meat lover, I recommend visiting.”
