Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise friendly, speedy staff who cope with large groups and mixed ages, from small children with prams to 80 year olds. The food draws a more varied response. A mac n cheese toastie with sweet potato fries is called lovely, a Christmas three course is called fantastic, and a duo roast with extras is described as a bargain. Others are far less kind. Several call the food frozen and prepackaged, with one reviewer describing dry, overcooked peas and a sad looking salad, and another finding the roast adequate but not filling. Salt and pepper chips were likened to having a tub of five spice poured over them. A few mention dated decor, a musty smell, and grubby tables with food on the floor, and one notes long waits for service when staff are run off their feet. One reviewer who received a dessert with custard instead of ice cream was refused a swap unless they paid, and said they would not return.

“Service wasn't a issue no complaints Very attentive The food was the main issue ! *Chicken was awful. *Peas were dry and over cooked. *Steak I've taken back for the dog. *Salad looked very sad. Not very good at all whole bill came to £47 including 3 drinks. The food is obviously frozen and prepackaged Not like the hungry horse meals of old. Nobody came to ask if our food was ok so left.”

“Have been on four occasions over the last few months consistantly good food served quickly by friendly great staff accomodating 80 yr olds through to small children. Could not be happier with our experience and for a large group would not go elsewhere. Many thanks to all the staff.”

“I am really trying to be balanced here because I have been going here for the past year or so. The food is the usual frozen stuff but definitely edible. The staff are usually run off their feet so there is often a wait for service. They’re usually quite pleasant though. Tonight’s experience has ensured I won’t be back though. My son in law ordered my dessert with custard instead of ice cream so I couldn’t eat it. The member of staff would not change it unless I paid. I understand why of course I do, but if you had done a goodwill gesture I wouldn’t have decided to leave this review and not return. There are so many basic pubs and you don’t stand out enough for a poor customer experience. We usually attend as a group of six and it’s not cheap. It’s also usually grubby with dirty tables and food on the floor.”

“Stopped off for tea - great value for money. Most of the food was okay - salt & pepper chips ain't great... it was literally like a tub of 5 spices had been poured over them. Staff were friendly and speedy. Not a long wait for food. Easy with the kids and pram. Would come again!”

“Came after work on Sunday. Got a duo roast with a few extras. Bargain for the money, Thai and India were great. will be coming back”
