About The Andalusian
The Andalusian is a tapas bar in Carlisle, at 6 Warwick Rd, with a bar on the ground floor downstairs and a dining room upstairs. The menu blends Mexican and Spanish dishes, and the tapas selection is large. Dishes are sold as a set of three and shared among the table. Beef tacos and fish tacos sit alongside prawns in spicy oil served with bread. Tables can be booked for the upstairs dining room, so a group can settle in over several shared plates.

Customer Review Summary
Tapas is the main draw, with reviewers praising the beef tacos, fish tacos, crispy pork with slaw and prawns in spicy oil, and describing the beef as soft and the chicken as falling apart. Close behind, the Sunday dinner earns one reviewer's praise alongside a rhubarb crumble with custard and a fillet steak, while another liked the chicken and called the pudding massive. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one group of 11 without a booking was served drinks in the bar while a table was prepared upstairs. The main complaint is portion size for groups. Two hen party tables said dishes like five prawns for six people had to be cut up or halved, and one reported no vegetarian choice. Both said the food was tasty but not worth the cost. A separate reviewer found the Sunday chicken dinner dry, with watery gravy, and the replacement piece was no better. Another found service slow. Even so, the Yorkshire pudding was called nice, and staff replaced the chicken when told.

“In a party of 11, we came here lunchtime without a booking and they were very accommodating, serving us drinks in the bar while they prepared a table upstairs. Staff were all super nice and the food (combo of Mexican and some Spanish) was all very high quality. We had a great time!”

“The Sunday chicken dinner was awful. Arrived with the smallest dry peice of chicken could hardly cut it ,told staff who went got another half of breast that was as bad ,gravy was like water, one peice of stem broccoli few carrots, tatties, Yorkshire was nice . The was only 4 people in the restaurant so there is no excuses to serve that . They must have different chefs as it was always one of the best . Staff were lovely as always . Won't return.”

“Very disappointed dont get me wrong but the food was tasty but as a group of 24 for a hen-do the quantity was very poor the portion sizes were not adequate for a tapas as all the dishes had to be cut up so there was enough..2 tables with 6 and 1 with 12 people how do you share 5 prawns between 6 people and the rest were the same the quantity was ridiculous everyone of us felt the same will not return after spending nearly £500 on the food alone ..they knew there was a vegetarian there and there was no choice for her either ...very disappointing”

“Was there on Friday night for a hen night staff were fine , food was tasty, BUT the tapas wasn’t enough we had to half some of the dishes as 3 doesn’t go into 6 people on a table everyone was so hungry , was very disappointed as the food cost nearly £500 for our group & it definitely wasn’t worth the money , I will not be returning as it was discussing the amount of food to be shared”
