Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most often for the food at this village pub, with the Beef Sunday roast singled out as falling apart and melting in the mouth, and the veg cooked perfectly. Close behind are the other plates diners name: fish and chips, beef brisket, lamb, pies, Cumberland sausage and a sea bass from the specials board. Desserts get a mention too, a Biscoff Sundae and a sticky toffee pudding described as very sweet. Portions and pricing come up repeatedly, with reviewers calling the food reasonably priced and honestly priced. The staff are described as friendly and welcoming, with the young team's service called a highlight, and one reviewer says the owners care about the community. A pub that suits dogs also appears in one account from a stop on the way back from Scotland. The one complaint is from a couple who arrived to find the kitchen closed because of the hot weather, so they only had a drink in a quiet pub. Several others say they will be back, and one enjoyed a birthday meal for seven.
