About Brodies Coffee Cabin
Brodies Coffee Cabin is a family-run coffee shop in Cardiff, serving from a cabin on Gorsedd Gardens Rd since 2016. The drinks use coffee roasted exclusively for the cabin, and the flat white is one way to try it. Sweet treats include Banana and Biscoff cake, and toasties cover lunch. The cabin welcomes everyone who walks up, from students and academics to rugby players and people experiencing homelessness, and dogs are welcome too. A student discount is offered. The cabin sits near the museum and behind Queen Street. Brodies also runs other sites at Bute Park and the Heath.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the draw at this Gorsedd Gardens cabin, with reviewers praising an iced latte and a chatty team who talk about coffee passionately and give drink recommendations. Close behind is the food: toasties, cakes some call the nicest they have had, Biscoff biscuit sandwiches, and a banana and Biscoff cake with a big portion that one regular suggests trying. Several describe lovely, friendly staff, a beautiful outside sitting area near the museum and park, and a student discount. The criticism is fewer in number but specific. One reviewer received an iced flat white only partly filled after asking for less ice, was told that option applies only to iced lattes, and found the drink too expensive with the extra syrup charge. Another loves the cabin but dislikes that the card device does not show the amount being charged, leaving customers to trust the barista entered the right total. One parent noted that the baristas, overhearing that the hot chocolates were for children, made them less hot, and both kids called them the best they had had.

“Definitely worth the average 4.9... fantastic coffee. I also learnt the difference between an americano and a long black. You don't know? Maybe go to Brodies and find out.”

“WORST coffee place to get ur coffee from! (it was my first time too!) i ordered the iced-flat white - normal size. you know what i got? i half quantity of the drink! the cup was not fully filled, my drink was not filled. i paid £4.45 for that? plus £1for additional syrup? i asked the associate why isn’t it filled up and they said that “you asked for less ice, and we only do that for iced-latte.” i was flabbergasted! i didn’t wanna argue. why don’t you fill up your flat-white? how was that not diabolical? we pay for a fair amount of price, and we demand a fair quantity and quality for what we pay for! hideous service and quality! TOO EXPENSIVE! please, just go to Greggs people. at least they’ll fill up your drinks.”

“My new coffee break place, just behind hustle of queen street, near the museum a beautiful park and great coffee. Brodies is also now in Bute Park. Great staff. Beautiful outside sitting area.”

“My ultimate morning routine spot on the way to uni! The coffee is top-tier and the staff are always welcoming. Definitely try the banana and Biscoff cake if you get a chance, the portion size is quite big and it tastes amazing.”

“I love Brodies coffee and visit the Heath site, Gorsedd cabin and the Castle and the service and coffee is usually 10 out of 10. However, customers need to be aware you will be asked to pay for your food or coffee on a device that doesn’t tell you how much you are paying. If a barista puts in the wrong amount for your coffees you have no idea, they could put £17 instead of £7. You have to hope they don’t make a mistake. I visit lots of coffee shops and this is the only one that doesn’t have a device which displays the amount you have paid. Brodie you can do better.”
