About M&S Café
M&S Café is a cafe in Cardiff on Station Road, serving customers since 1935 from the ground floor of an M&S store, near the food hall. Ordering works at the till, where customers order and pay. A different team member then makes the drinks and carries them to the table. The drinks menu covers coffee, lattes, iced lattes and tea served in a teapot. Hot food is brought to the table after ordering, and toasted sandwiches come with a numbered card so the food can be delivered to the right seat. Cakes and scones are on offer, including carrot cake and other cake slices. Some items are self-serve from the fridges and displays near the tills, while others are prepared to order.

“M&S cafe is a popular place while shopping at M&S. Good quality cake slices, main dishes and variety of coffee. Traditionally popular with middle and aged group. M&S has tried attracting younger generations in past few years .”

“The last two visits I have had to this m&s cafe have been awful. The last time, we ordered a latte and a matcha, ended up with 2 lattes. We were served by a very rude older lady who was loudly bad mouthing customers who didn’t know how the system worked because they weren't “regulars”, so we stuck with our wrong order. Today we visited in hopes of a better experience as it was much quieter, and ordered 2 iced lattes with oat milk and were served iced lattes with cows milk. My mother is lactose intolerant and I think it’s disgusting that staff obviously cant read the orders well enough to cater for customers dietary needs. Safe to say we won’t be visiting again.”

“I visited the M&S Café this afternoon and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the poached eggs and asked to add bacon. The menu clearly stated that bacon could be added, but the lady serving me replied, “We don’t do bacon,” in a way that made me feel quite foolish. When I pointed out that the menu said it was available as an extra, she simply responded, “Yes, we don’t have it,” without any apology or explanation. I found her attitude rude and unhelpful. To make matters worse, when my food arrived, it was freezing cold. Overall, the customer service was poor and the food was unacceptable. Safe to say I won’t be returning.”

“Peaceful café in the vast M&S Culverhouse Store west of Cardiff which is popular across South Wales. When we refreshed ourselves here we met a customer who lives in faraway Newport! There are many other retail outlets close by and spacious carparks to match. For railway buffs there's the knowledge that the disused tunnel of the former Barry Railway, silent now but an artery of the Welsh coal industry, sits under the café.”

“First time I've been here when there hadn't been a big queue. Only two people in front of me at the till.Bought a toasted sandwich and was given a card with a number on for it to be brought to me. The tea I had was very nice. Enough for two standard cups in the teapot. No saucers given with the cups which seems to be the same in all M & S. Had to wait about 5 minutes for my sandwich to be brought to me. It was mushroom and cheese and was also very nice. My wife enjoyed her scone and I enjoyed my carrot cake ( about six cakes to choose from). The quality of food was good. Price a little above average. If they continue to eliminate the queueing problems I will be back.”
