Customer Review Summary

Coffee is what reviewers return for most, led by the Kenyan filter and espresso one describes as extracted perfectly, and a black filter coffee praised for its temperature. Beans from the roastery also draw coffee fans to other shops. Food comes close behind, with the chorizo hash singled out as a favourite, plus a harissa chicken sandwich, a pastrami ciabatta described as incredibly filling, pancakes that are always a hit, and a breakfast bun called as soft as a cloud. Desserts earn their own praise: the key lime pie, a cookie one reviewer calls the best they've had, and enormous cinnamon buns. A chocolate chai latte also gets a mention. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming. The main caveat is busyness. Several suggest making a reservation, one describes service as a little slow, and one found the pumpkin pie sold out. Even so, that same reviewer said nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

“Great coffee at a reasonable price. I always look out for coffee shops that use Hard Lines beans because the coffee is so good. Really enjoyed this one — definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of great coffee.”

“Our favorite breakfast spot in Cardiff. We made a last minute breakfast reservation and are so happy we did! (But if you go early you likely can still get a spot) Everything we ate was tasty and each dish had its own unique flavors. But my favorite was the chorizo hash. The filter coffee is also top notch and the whole vibe and staff is friendly and welcoming. Hope we can make it back one day :)”

“Had a great visit again today. Our server was so friendly and helpful that we were quickly seated. Recommend making a reservation as this place gets busy. We ordered the ciabatta with pastrami from the specials menu (incredibly filling!) and pancakes which are always a hit. Overall an enjoyable visit.”
