Customer Review Summary

The breakfast wrap and full English draw repeat praise, with several diners also naming the halloumi and pepper wrap, fried chicken burger, and beans on toast as generous and tasty. Friendliness from the owner comes up again and again, including one account of him working alone through staff sickness yet still cooking fresh and remembering orders without writing them down. Coffee earns steady approval, with lattes called well-tempered though one reviewer felt the machine ran too hot. Portions and quality vary: one vegan diner found their toast plate of a few mushrooms and tomato slices too sparse for a full meal, while another reviewer describes a frozen-middle hash brown, burnt toast, and stomach discomfort after an English breakfast they felt was overpriced. A separate reviewer suggests better quality sausages would justify the price. Despite these gaps, most describe a homey, welcoming spot they return to repeatedly.

“Visited CB4 this morning, Garfield was lone working due to staff sickness but absolutely everything was still cooked fresh, it was busy and he was still remembering orders without writing them down! At one point I did offer to help clear tables for him be very politely declined, and for as busy as he was he still was smiling and engaging with every customer!!”

“Lovely little local cafe. I believe the jerk chicken is a speciality. We went for breakfast. Oat milk was available for coffees which was a nice touch. We had 1) beans on toast. Hot and a generous portion, plus an offer (declined) for more beans. We also had 2) a plate of two slices of toast, cooked fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. We were offered a choice of bread for the toast. The portions for this were disappointing. Two small mushrooms and two slices of tomatoes. Both were well cooked and hot, but I just got the impression that he’d never been asked for this before, and didn’t know I was expecting a slice of toast covered in mushrooms and a slice of toast covered in cooked tomato. I’m vegan, so this was meant to be my full meal. I left hungry. Car parking outside for two or three cars. No bike stands, but options for tying your bike up. Some seating outside at the front. Plenty of space inside all on one level and also toilets available.”
