  “Usually on the mark, this visit fell short. Ale was off, vegan options very limited... if I never see a Moving Mountain burger again in my life it will be too soon. Dint choose that. Chickpea dhal bland under large lumps of courgette. The concept was fine, the plate itself under delivered. Sometimes I feel The Plough overstretches... so many covers, so many tables, difficult to maintain high standards at that level of service. OH ordered the cheese platter, at £15 it could have been a bit more generous, mainly cheddar with a slice of bouchon de chevre and a spot of something else.... expensive biscuits, but no one orders cheese for the biscuits. One starter, two mains, one vegan, a cheese platter.. without the wine well over £100.”

  “We are visiting the area and was recommended the pub booked a table quickly about 8.15.. Turned up and nice looking place. As we walked in one of the staff (assuming the manager/assistant manager) was bad mouthing another member of staff to a staff member, not professional. Waiting staff were friendly and showed us to table, ordered food. pub food at restaurant prices. Was ok. Pub filtered out quickly, locals probably. Finished meal about 9.00 and asked for another drink. Was met with an eye roll from same bad mouthed manager, but was served. We sat down and felt uncomfortable whilst everyone was setting up tables for next dat. booked a taxi which goung to take 15 mins so asked for another drink, but the manager coldly said that she had cashed up. This was about 9.20. No last bell. Maybe the locals know this but we didnt. Very disappointing experience.”

  “What a lovely pub! A few miles outside of Cambridge... We stayed here for a stop over to visit family in Cambridge, we arrived to the wake of a very popular, local man. We didn't expect the place to be so busy- but it was packed! We met some lovely local people and we felt very welcomed ❤️ The manager (we think) helped us to park up in the large, packed carpark.. He was very accommodating and also very welcoming. We didn't have food, so we can't comment on that, but next time, we will definitely eat there. Drinks were good and not silly prices. Loads of outside seating, plenty of indoor seating, dog friendly too... Would highly recommend this pub! Thank you all for being so welcoming ❤️🥂🍻🤗”

  “On my booking, I requested a quiet corner table, however, once sat down, we had a couple sat very close to is. Tables are very close. I was surprised, as the main part of the pub was empty and the atmosphere was more cosy in the maim area. Food was fine, though portion was rather small, especially the plant burger. No side salad, just 1 gerkin. The roast chicken was ok, but vegetables were rather undercooked. The beat dish was the cauliflower. Lots of waiting staff and fairly friendly service. This had amazing reviews, but not sure why.”

  “Walked in on a Wednesday night and was quickly found a seat. Quite busy for a midweek, so I can imagine reservation is a must on Friday night and weekends! Service was helpful, attentive, and polite yet good humoured. Perfect balance! Beers are well kept with clean lines so draft tastes great. Interesting choice of spirits (not what I went in for, but as a solo diner I got embroiled in the neighbouring table's birthday celebration, who bought a round or two). Food was fantastic quality. Great presentation and execution. I had chicken ballontine. Juicy inside with no swamping of the stuffing, in a tender and crispy Parma ham wrap. Definitely freshly cooked with no packet or premade sauces here, interesting and well balanced flavours. Pannacotta was really pleasant with subtle yet distinct flavours. Easy to get wrong but this was very right.”

  “Pasky and team went above and beyond for my 70th birthday party, the entire experience was fantastic. Great food, fantastic service, nothing was too much trouble. All my guests had a throughly enjoyable evening. Can’t wait for many more celebrations there.”

  “Went here for an impromptu lunch on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime. Very warm welcome and shown to a lovely table. Menus given- both special and set menus. Drinks order taken and delivered swiftly. Only wanting a light snack we ordered Prawn cocktails and a beef ragu. Did not have to wait too long- nice ambience in the restaurant- mainly retired but all very social.”

  “Posh village gastropub. A solid 4-star considering its price and location. Fancy inside, rustic and sunlit outside. The food was mostly tasty. I enjoyed the duck leg (prefer the cur more than the brest anyways). Tender and flavrful. The spiced nut crumble is a little too strong with cumin. The sauce (caramalized rhubarb?) is delightful. Roast halibut is not oily and looks healthy, though a bit dry. Starters arrived after the mains. The cucumber is refereshing, though the ocotopuses are all headless lol. I also hope it’s not fried. The fried oysters are decent. Plump and fresh. The coating is a little too thick. No local ciders :3 A nice place to stop by but not worth going so far for the restaurant alone.”

  “Lovely pub with emphasis on food service. The food was delicious and portion size was generous. We went for Sunday lunch and it was very busy which is obviously a good sign but I found it a little too busy and noisy. Definitely worth a visit and I would recommend but I wouldn’t go on Sunday as it’s crazy busy.”
