About Green Man Cambridge
Green Man Cambridge is a pub at 55 High St in Cambridge, set in a medieval timbered building with a garden and a history tied to coaching traditions. Inside, a pub space where dogs are welcome and food is also served sits alongside a separate dining room with candles lit on the tables. The Sunday roast comes with unlimited gravy, and a sharing version is available for two. The Chateaubriand is pre-ordered by phone, because only a few are kept in stock. The drinks list includes non-alcoholic cocktails and a passion fruit martini.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the main draw, especially the sharing roast for two, which diners call generous and delicious, with unlimited gravy. Close behind are the desserts, including sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream, and the pork duo with the option to add scallops. A passion fruit martini also earns praise. Servers are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, looking after large parties and answering questions about dishes, and one group booked their party after a visit. The dining room is called beautifully decorated and cosy. The caveats are the bar and some of the cooking. One diner found the fish and chips huge but average, with mushy peas needing a creamier texture and more flavour, and another could not find a seat in the bar away from loud, intoxicated locals on a Saturday evening, so planned to book a table next time. One reviewer suggests phoning to pre-order the chateaubriand, since few are kept in stock, and ordering it rare with chips and tender stem.

“The Green Man in Trumpington is a lovely place to relax, unwind and enjoy a bit of history. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great spot for taking some time out and enjoying a quiet drink or meal. For anyone looking for somewhere peaceful to recover, recharge and spend time away from the stresses of everyday life, it is a very pleasant choice. What makes the Green Man particularly special is its fascinating history. The building has medieval origins and has been part of Trumpington life for centuries. It has connections with old coaching traditions, horses, local characters and even stories involving Cambridge students. Knowing that you are sitting in such a historic building adds something extra to the experience. Overall, the Green Man combines a relaxed atmosphere, character and an impressive sense of the past. It is a great place to visit, unwind and appreciate a little piece of Trumpington history.”

“Oh wow just finished the most delicious roast at The Green Man, everything about it was perfect. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and cosy. I had the passion fruit martini cocktail which was spot on, and enjoyed the sharing Sunday roast for two- it was divine! Everything was delicious and the portions were extremely generous- the unlimited gravy was welcome too. I had a sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream to finish and that was scrumptious. The icing on the cake was our host Sarah Brown who provided the best service. Nothing was too much trouble, she was attentive, polite and very friendly. Perfect place to enjoy a Sunday roast.”

“We went in for a drink and to look at the venue for a future party booking and decided to stay for a Sunday roast. We were looked after by Sarah Brown who not only fully explained the party process but also looked after us throughout our meal. We had a wonderful experience. The food was tasty, especially the desserts and the service was friendly and attentive. Needless to say we made the party booking and are now looking forward to returning in December for our celebrations. Thank you Sarah and the whole team for making our visit so enjoyable.”
