About Lorna’s Kitchen
Lorna's Kitchen is a small Irish restaurant at 57a Main St in Bushmills, run by locals. Breakfast is cooked to order, with a fry up and a vegetarian all-day breakfast on the menu. Chicken dishes make up much of the rest, led by peppered chicken and chips, and soup and sandwiches sit alongside them. Pancakes with bananas and cream cover the sweeter side, and the kitchen serves coffee and lattes to go with them.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cooked and all-day breakfasts, from the pancakes with fresh bananas and cream to a fry-up where the server offered to swap the beans for something else, and a vegetarian breakfast served all day. Close behind are the lunch plates: peppered chicken with a homemade creamy sauce, pesto chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and a large side salad, a chicken club, and a baked potato with chili and cheese. A tuna sandwich with soup and a stuffed soda with a latte also earn praise. Many describe the staff as friendly and chatty, food arriving promptly, and prices as good value. One reviewer was less impressed, calling the burger like a food service burger, the chicken burger freezer to fryer, and the saucy bird and bangers and mash merely okay, though the people were very nice. Several mention a local feel, and one party of five was served right away, with another reviewer taking a sandwich, soup and dessert home for dinner.

“This place feels going back to our childhoods in a really nice comforting way. Great prices, really great service. Wanted a fry up without beans and without asking she asked if I wanted to swap them for something else. Cafes never usually do that willingly! We will be back! Thank you!🍳✨”

“Loved this little cafe - the food was delicious and we loved the local vibe! Lorna is an amazing cook and we’d love to come back! I had the stuffed soda and a latte, delicious!”

“Such a nice cafe/restaurant, good ambience and good food, not very expensive as well.”

“The food was pass-able. The burger tasted like food service burger. The chicken burger was freezer to fryer. The saucy bird was okay but needed more sauce. The bangers and mash were okay. The people were very nice, but I wouldn't consider this a must-stop.”

“Best cafe around. This is a hidden gem in the North Coast. Run by locals too, which makes it more than special. The place is spotless and has its own character. The tables are always clean and the servers are always friendly and chatty. Food always arrives promptly and is excellent value for money. I can recommend the cooked breakfasts and their afternoon meals as well. Anyone who provides a negative review about this lovely little cafe, quite simply has no taste. Thank you Lorna and staff for making my visits extra special and see you in a number of weeks.”
