Customer Review Summary

The view over the east bay and Arcadia Beach through big glass windows is what reviewers raise most, with several calling it stunning or beautiful. The food earns praise too, especially the Korean dishes: Korean cauliflower, Korean chicken salad, a Korean Caesar salad described as fresh, and Korean fries with lemon mayo, though another diner found the fries soaked in barbecue sauce. The garlic chicken and burger also get good words, and one reviewer found the pork loin great but its dauphinois undercooked. Service is the recurring complaint. Reviewers describe slow, disjointed delivery, with a table of six served so unevenly that some were nearly finished while others waited, sides arriving well after mains, and a missing asparagus. Some find the room very noisy with tables squeezed close, and one reported it so cold they fetched coats from the car. Two reviewers object to being charged for extra sauce, and a ham sandwich and toasty were called thin on fillings. One family asked for skinny chips, received chunky ones on every child's plate, and waited for replacements until everyone else had eaten.

“A restaurant carried by its view rather than the food or the staff First, the positives. The atmosphere of the restaurant is brilliant. Lovely creamy cushions and Ritz-like decor. The restaurant opens up into an open-plan dining area, with big glass windows taking advantage of the beautiful view of Arcadia Beach. Now onto the rest. It took a while for our order to be taken. The squid was okay, 3/5, but it tasted bland. I had no dipping sauce for the rings. The salad was okay, but not nearly spicy or flavourful enough to make up for the lack of sauce. Then I had the Sugar Pit pork loin. The meat itself was great, however, the accompanying dishes? The dauphinois was undercooked, and there wasn’t enough cream in the dish to give it the proper texture. The apple coleslaw thing was an example of man’s hubris in trying to improve on apple sauce. Just give me apple sauce, please. Finally, the Korean fries (not pictured) were essentially fries soaked to the point of saturation in Korean barbecue sauce. I would not have ordered them if I’d known they were going to taste so strongly of barbecue sauce. I was expecting something more like a Korean spice blend tossed through the fries. We were then offered a dessert menu, and the wait staff proceeded to not give us the menu over the next 15 minutes. We left dessertless and fed up. Overall, a 3/5. If you’re stuck for somewhere to go, I suppose this is serviceable, but just stick to a burger and normal fries, as this seems to be all this place is capable of.”

“We went on a busy weekend evening. The food was quite good, and not over priced. The staff were seeking to do their best in an extremely busy restaurant. Tables were so close together you were literally squeezed into the table in front and into the back of the person behind. It was difficult to hear people speak, even at your own table. Whilst the views are stunning, if you want to go out for a quiet, conversational meal, choose somewhere else.”

“Fantastic view and really tasty food. The selling point is the view over the east bay and the Arcadia. We ordered the Korean cauliflower, Korean chicken salad, chilli and mushroom tagliatelle, and the garlic chicken, all were very tasty! Not too busy, we visited on a Thursday at about 2pm.”

“Staff have poor communication skills. Was very cold We were charged £4 due to asking for more sauce all because there wasn't enough to begin with. Also anogher £4 for a sauce with the kids meal.. Wait times weren't bad We regularly dine in portrush and I can't ever see us returning here. Far to expensive and very strange atmosphere. We had to go back to the car to get our coats just to continue eating our meals. I spoke with a few other customers whilst dinning. We all shared the same opinions. We have dined every where in Portrush and usually always get the same meals. This restaurant is more expensive by £35. For the same orders. Take this into consideration when taken your family here..”

“Bright, clean, great view of the sea, but could do with acoustic dampening panels as it was very noisy and more staff. Visited on a Saturday evening, the staff were run off the feet so service left a lot to be desired. The side took over 5 mins to come out after the mains were brought to the table we had to ask three times for it. We were not asked if our food was ok and part of the main was missing so we tried our best to attract attention from the staff. When they did bring out the missing item they only brought it for one main when we’d said both meals had the vegetable missing. Overall the food was good we had the garlic chicken, but as we had to wait for our side (champ) and then finding the asparagus was missing I’ve had to give it 4 stars.”
