Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips anchor the reviews, though opinions on the fish split. Several diners praise the chips, one singling out the Christmas chips and another the chips with gravy and peas, and some call the fish fresh and great quality. Close behind are the Philly steak, described as greasy and flavorful, a chicken fillet burger in a good bap, scampi with a tub of curry sauce, and a chicken curry one diner found thick and tasty. The recurring complaint is grease. Reviewers describe fish soaked in oil, a rancid taste from oil that needed changing, chips that felt old, and batter that fell apart too easily. One found the chicken fillet smaller than the photo suggested, and another found the shop freezing with the door kept open. One reviewer reports that a family of four became ill after eating cod and chips. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one diner enjoyed watching them having the craic with the locals on a busy Saturday night.

“Ate fish (Cod) and chips with our family of four on the evening of 7/11/26. That night one of our children woke up sick at 1am. By 4am all of us were throwing up. This was the only shared meal of the day. It ruined the next day of our trip. By 7/13/26 most of us were better, but it lingered with one and totally ruined his day. Given the speed with it hit all of us and passed through us, it must have been food poisoning.”

“4th March. Very disappointing. Oil very badly needs changed! Rancid taste of fish and chips and very greasy! Be a long time until I pay £36 for two cod suppers and cokes in this establishment!”
