  “We had a wonderful experience here! We ordered the steak based on our waiter’s recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional — all the staff were friendly, attentive and professional, especially the lovely gentleman with the shaved head, who made our visit even more enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant!”

  “We have been here many times and this will probably be our last. Our starters of garlic mushrooms and the pate were nice but our mains were poor,my lasagne was tiny obviously cut from a larger piece and put in a oversize dish my wifes pizza was poor the base was very doughy and under cooked,most of it was left and at no point were we asked if we were happy with our food.The music was very loud and we coukd hardly hear each other. We have been visiting Rapallo for many years even when it was under a different owner/name but feel let down over the last two visits this year.”

  “Amazing authentic food, lovely people, great prices and portions sizes. Food was served quickly but very fresh and staff were very accommodating throughout. 1000% recommend the prawns to start and the fillet steak is incredible and cooked to perfection. My new favourite Italian, can't wait to return!”

  “My family have been to Rapallo 3 times in the last few months. Each time David and the team have been amazing. The food is beautiful both in presentation and flavour. We have had the early bird menu and can't believe the exceptional quality of the ingredients used. It was my daughters birthday yesterday and we had a low key family meal but they still made a fuss of her with a special home made tiramisu cup with a birthday candle and the staff all joined in singing to her. Lovely welcoming place.”

  “Had a fantastic experience here tonight. 2 adults 2 children. Great prices considering how good the food was and how much you get. The team were great. Amazing balance of making sure we were looked after but not pestering us. I've been here before and had a good experience too. Will definitely be back!”

  “Absolutely appalling service from start to finish. Our table was reserved weeks in advance for 7:00pm, yet we weren’t seated until 8:15pm. Our drinks order wasn’t taken until 8:30pm, with the first drink arriving at 8:45pm. The remaining drinks trickled out slowly, the last one arriving at 9:05pm. After that, no one returned to take any further drink orders, so when the food eventually arrived, many of us had nothing to drink. Our food order was taken at around 8:40pm, and it wasn’t until 9:30pm (two and a half hours after our original reservation time!) that most of the dishes arrived. Some meals came out even later, with some starters served after mains had already been finished. We were informed the restaurant closes at 10:00pm, which meant that by 9:45pm everyone had rushed to finish their meals. After such a long wait, we were unable to properly relax and enjoy the food. Despite clearly being overbooked and struggling to manage the tables they already had, the restaurant continued accepting walk-ins throughout the evening. I have never experienced such poor customer service. While the food itself was acceptable, it did not come close to making up for the frustration and disappointment caused by the overall experience.”

  “We booked a very large table for 7pm, THREE weeks in advance and arrived at 6:40. We knew we'd still likely have to wait until 7 for a table. Just preferred to be early than late. We weren't seated until 8:15 and weren't served drinks until 8:30. The first drink arrived at 8:45 with the following drinks slowly coming to the table until 9:05. Our food orders were taken around 8:40. Other than one children's pizza, most of the food came out at 9:30, with some meals arriving later and even a starter coming to the table AFTER the mains. The restaurant took walk-ins all night, despite the fact that they were very clearly overbooked and couldn't manage the tables they currently had in. By 9:45pm, everyone had rushed to finish their meals as closing time was stated to be 10pm. Not a single one of us had the chance to enjoy our meals, given our haste to eat them before 10. A second order of drinks was never taken either, so nobody had a drink to accompany their meal. The kids meal mentioned above also didn't come with the drink, nor ice-cream as listed on the menu. It's worth nothing that in the midst of our wait time before being seated, a server made it very known that only one full-payment for our order will be accepted, due to our table being so large. That was later proven false when we observed a table just as big as ours, paying individually for each of their meals/drinks. By this point, we'd requested the bill and waited close to 15 minutes for it. During which, most of our guests had left the restaurant. It was 10:20 by the time we received the bill and paid. Most of our drinks had been written off, as well as the service charge and starters. I've not let this sway my star-rating however, as ultimately the experience was far less than satisfactory. It was frankly quite a pathetic and an embarrassing demonstration of customer service. Free drinks and starters was the absolute bare minimum I'd have expected to compensate for such dreadful service. I've never in my life begun writing a review whilst still in the restaurant I'm reviewing but I couldn't ignore the blatant lack of customer-service skills from almost everyone involved. From the get-go we were treated as an afterthought; a burden and not once did we feel like valued customers in this apparently esteemed restaurant. Just a chore for the staff to handle. I've had some poor restaurant experiences in the past but nothing compares to this one. Not in the slightest. 'Disappointed' is an understatement.”

  “Hopeless lack of service. Booked a table for a 70th birthday and were promptly shown to a table, after sitting there for 25 minutes finally caught the attention of a waiter and asked if we could order, he said he'd be back shortly and that's the last we saw of him. After 45 minutes waiting we got up and walked out, the evening being completely ruined. Too many covers and not enough staff, simply not good enough.”

  “The food was really good but my pasta was too salty for my liking. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly and it was good value for money. I wanted profiteroles but they were sold out.”

  “Our first time here yesterday and I so wish we had visited previously. The service by Ricardo and the attention to detail and food was excellent. The monk fish as the main was recommended by Ricardo was perfect! Will definitely be going back - the prices for two with two starters, two mains and a bottle of wine just over £60 - absolute value for money and so reasonable.”
