Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the riverside setting, with lunch at a table looking over the water or outside in the garden centre grounds, and the friendly, lovely staff who serve it. Several call the food good or excellent, and one praises the daily specials alongside the main menu. Others name a mocha and the chilli jam on halloumi fries as highlights, and one says the cakes looked great. The main complaint is how busy it gets: one reviewer queued out the door, another could not get an outside table, and one found the duck had sold out. Food and drink hiccups also recur. A full English arrived missing sausages and hash browns, though the server apologised and brought the sausages. The halloumi fries were very hard, a tuna jacket potato came with too little mayo, and a small caramel latte with a single shot felt small for the money. One reviewer wished for coconut milk and hot desserts.

“I decided not eat as I wanted to sit by the river outside (the reason why I went) but it was far to busy and the only option was to sit inside. Absolutely brilliant because it shows how popular it is! And of course it's not their fault I wanted to sit outside. I did get a look at the menu and it looked amazing!!”

“I’m so pleased to have found this little gem of a daytime café in Great Harwood! I’ve eaten here three times so far and every meal has been excellent. What really stands out for me is the quality of the food. Everything I’ve tried has been beautifully cooked, with great attention to detail and clearly a lot of skill going into the dishes. Food wise, it’s definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in the local area for a long time. There’s a really good variety on the main menu, as well as daily specials, so there’s always plenty to choose from. The café itself has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the service has always been friendly, attentive and professional. There’s also WiFi and parking, which is really convenient. It can get busy at peak times and you may have to queue, but I think that speaks for itself. My only little wishes would be to see coconut milk added as a dairy free option for hot drinks and perhaps a few hot desserts on the menu — that would make it even better for me. A really lovely local café with genuinely high-quality food and great service. I’ll definitely be returning!”

“Had a fantastic lunch with a lovely table looking out over the river. Unfortunately my first choice, the duck, had sold out but the alternative was excellent. Even though it was busy we only queued for a short while. Service was superb and the experience is highly recommended.”
