Customer Review Summary

Pizza is the most frequent draw, with one reviewer calling a meat pizza fantastic and generous enough to share. A calzone packed with ham, pepperoni and pancetta is described as possibly the best one a diner has had. Close behind are the lasagne, the pasta, meatballs, bresaola, and a sharing starter of goats' cheese with bread that one pair of diners found too much for two. Reviewers also praise the tiramisu as fresh and light, and the ice cream as very good quality. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and several describe the flavours as authentic. The complaints are small but specific. One reviewer found the lasagne a little salty, another says coffee and cheese truffle fries aren't their strength, and one reports no soap in the toilets and a grubby door. One reviewer suggests making a reservation after finding the restaurant nearly full. Another says the child's pizza is huge, so expect to take some away.

“Absolutely brilliant little gem. All of our food was incredible. The child's pizza is huge, so expect to take some away. Very good quality ice cream too to finish with. The staff are very attentive. We will definitely be back next time we're flying from Bristol airport.”

“Came across this gem on the way back home from Bristol airport. Each member of the team we met was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, and the taste (having just flown back from a holiday in Italy) we could tell immediately was authentic. I ordered the Calzone and it was packed with ham, peperoni and pancetta, with a fantastic sauce on the side and I loved it, possibly the best I ever had. I would suggest making a reservation if you want to eat here as the restaurant was pretty much full when we went - although we by luck got squeezed in as a walk in which we were very grateful for! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area! Thanks again to the wonderful team at Alfresco for a wonderful dining experience!!”

“We visited Alfresco Cleeve on Saturday lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. The food was excellent – we ordered the sharing starter for two, which was absolutely delicious (the goats’ cheese with bread was my favourite!), but honestly far too much food for just two people. I had one of the meat pizzas, which was also fantastic – again, a very generous portion, and definitely enough to share. The overall experience was delightful. The atmosphere was calm (not very busy, but that’s to be expected at lunchtime), and the staff were lovely – friendly, attentive, and very helpful. We were so full we skipped dessert and enjoyed a cocktail instead, which was a nice way to round things off. The only downside was that the toilets could have been better maintained – there was no soap available, and the door looked a little grubby. Apart from that, everything else was excellent, and I’d happily come back!”
