About Magari Bristol
Magari Bristol is an Italian restaurant on the Harbourside in Bristol, at unit 18, where the pasta is made onsite every day. Sauces come in vegan, vegetarian and meat versions, and the pasta dishes include a carbonara with crispy guanciale and a sausage ragu. A burrata starter sits alongside them, and the lunchtime menu adds homemade lemonade and a lunch deal that pairs a pasta with a drink. Home kits let customers cook the pasta in their own kitchens. The team sources ingredients locally from small, independent businesses. The indoor dining area is small, with only a few tables next to the kitchen. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Carbonara is the dish diners name most, described as rich, creamy and cooked perfectly with crispy guanciale, and one calls it the best they have had. Sausage ragu comes close behind, with pomodoro, cacio e pepe, lemon zest pasta and the alici in white wine and lemon also singled out. Reviewers call the pasta fresh, generous in portion, and simple but done well. The burrata with extra sourdough and the lunchtime menu with homemade lemonade draw praise too, and several say the quality is good for the price. The main trade-off is space. The indoor room has only a few tables, and several suggest booking ahead or coming at a good time because seating is limited. One reviewer finds the pasta sometimes a tad too salty, though not unpleasantly so, and calls the service average but friendly. Others describe fast, friendly service. Reviewers repeatedly settle at the outdoor tables on sunny days, people watching over a plate of pasta.

“This is not upscale pasta or Italian but for us, as the first meal after getting in Bristol, it was the exact food we needed. The pasta tasted very fresh, the bread was phenomenal, and we had a great time sitting outside people (and dog) watching. One of my favorite dining experiences in Bristol even though we had a lot of higher end food. If I come back to Bristol, this is one place I'd visit again.”

“I got the lemon zest pasta and it was delicious. Honestly probably the best dish of pasta I’ve ever had. The meals aren’t overcomplicated, but just done well. And the price, for the quality of food was really good. If you’re in Bristol and looking for a great bowl of pasta, look no further.”

“Out of this world. We visited around a month ago - and I’m STILL raving about it to my friends. I had the carbonara - the best carbonara I’ve ever had. It was rich, creamy, packed with delicious flavour and crispy guanciale. Our server was wonderful (unfortunately I don’t remember his name, but I think he was perhaps the owner, or the manager?). The atmosphere was lovely too, everyone was having a great time in there - couples, small groups of friends. Very intimate. I 100000% will be returning. If you love Italian food (or even just GOOD food and good vibes), I would highly recommend this place.”

“Absolutely smashing food. Even better than the pasta we had in Rome. Very authentic italian experience. Very reasonable price too.”

“The pasta was delicious!! We had the cacio e Pepe & sausage ragu on the lunchtime menu with the homemade lemonade. Highly recommend, such a lovely lunch. Definitely book ahead as not many tables available.”
