About Pasta Ripiena Bristol
Pasta Ripiena Bristol is an Italian restaurant on St Stephen's St in Bristol, built around stuffed pasta made fresh to order. The filled dishes include crab mezzelune, truffle pansotti and venison cappellacci. The menu is small and changes with the seasons, and a set lunch of two courses is offered. Bread comes to the table, and the starters and desserts sit alongside the pasta. Wines are chosen to pair with the dishes. The dining room is small, with wall benches and seats next to the pass, and an open kitchen lets diners watch the chefs prepare the food. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the fresh filled pasta, naming venison cappellacci, crab mezzelune, truffle pansotti and a rich crab and prawn pasta. One reviewer calls it some of the best pasta they have eaten, and children at a wedding meal were impressed by their cheesy pasta. Close behind are the starters and bread. The focaccia, arancini, prawns, hake and a pigeon breast starter all draw praise, and the bread is described as out of this world. Service is called friendly, knowledgeable and quick, and a few mention the open kitchen and the relaxed, cosy atmosphere. The tiramisu divides opinion: one reviewer calls it massive, while two found the top layer watery or too liquid. Others fault the setting, describing wall benches and plastic seats that feel cheap, a mackerel smell from nearby starters during dessert, and a bright light over the pass switched on and off repeatedly. One also found the greens on the pigeon dish cold. One reviewer advises booking in advance. A birthday visit ended with complimentary digestifs from the servers.

“Can't fault this place at all. Came for Saturday lunch and had amazing food and great friendly service. I've never seen focaccia like it (and we loved it). Arancini and prawns were to die for and all our filled pasta dishes were incredible. Can't wait to come back next timer I'm in Bristol! Have been back, 6 months later and just as good!”

“A fantastic time! We went to pasta ripiena for a meal after our wedding at Bristol register office with a large group including children. The staff were all very helpful and easy to communicate with before the meal. The food was incredible! All our family said they loved their meals, and the children were very impressed with their cheesy pasta. I’m so pleased we chose pasta ripiena for our special occasion and we can’t wait to come back again.”

“It's always a privilege and honor returning to this restaurant. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, the menu is seasonal, locally sourced and the food is outstanding! It's on the pricey side; however, the food and service you receive really make it worth it. It was my partner's birthday, which was mentioned when I made the booking, and the staff went the extra mile in very subtle and non-overbearing ways to make us both feel special, welcome, and accommodated. Our server/s were also extremely knowledgeable and provided us with complimentary digestifs after our meal. (My partner mentioned it was the best pasta she has ever had in her life!) I hope to return again in the near future. Thank you, PR. Wishing you many more years of service.”

“We were a group of four for Saturday lunch. I have to say the staff are lovely and friendly very welcoming as the place it’s self is small and cosy. The bread is out of this world (sounds funny to say how good the bread is but it really was amazing) Had the Hake to start was delicious and the flavours were very complementary. My main was the crab and prawn pasta it was 10 out of 10 nice and rich full of flavour. Friends had a salami plate to start was also really nice and well done. Three of us had the tiramisu to finish and unfortunately it was very watery and did not have much flavour. This was a disappointment but it didn’t spoil the experience. If you love good pasta then I would definitely recommend.”
