  “Food was excellent, with good portions of quality tandoori chicken in the curries. The signature dishes are different and definitely worth a try, and the servers were attentive and really polite. Will definitely be returning!”

  “Last five years we've always been very happy with the food, only me last night we order our usual Lamb dish, only to be huge disappointed by the meat how chewy and hard it was, we followed up with a phone call back to the restaurant to let them know that we are shocked but how bad it is and it's never been like that before they reacted immediately by offering a replacement, although half of our order was already getting called while we went back to collect a replacement Lamb, but even the replacement was still as bad as the first dish. I'm not sure if you're now change the meat to a cheaper cut, or you've changed your chef in the kitchen, who is less experience but we are very disappointed that your Food standards have dropped.. you were usually our safe bet for any Curry dishes but now I see that we need to look elsewhere.”

  “Me and my partner have only been to Tudor Raj twice so far buy our experience has been amazing. The first time my partner knocked his beer into his nearly full curry, the staff replaced the curry without hesitation whilst giving us napkins to dry. Last night we went and the food was just as amazing as we remembered, the size of their onion bahjis are larger than tennis balls and cooked to perfection! The staff are all really welcoming and attentive which makes our experience really enjoyable. We both ordered the biriyani and I really recommend their Raj Special biriyani if you like a slight kick of spice (perfection level for me).”

  “Found this place after attending a music event in Chipping Sodbury and what a find; a first class restaurant. The Indian food was some of the best we've eaten, so fresh and tasty. Not swamped in sauces as can so often be the case. Just faultless. Service was fast and the staff were friendly. Honestly cannot wait to return.”

  “Visited by chance a couple of weeks ago and was so pleased we returned again today. This is a quintessential country town Indian restaurant - the decor and atmosphere are exactly as they should be- crisp white linens, red velveteen chairs, even a lovely fish tank. It’s comforting and timeless, exactly what you want and expect and the food is terrific, traditional British Indian food done very nicely. It was quite busy and so was quite loud, with a couple of large parties. The waiters are really hard working, unobtrusive and very polite, and managed to bring out our food very promptly ecpisally considering the two large parties who ordered just after we arrived. . The drinks are cold and fresh, the poppadums are crispy and delicious and the pickle selection is a treat especially the red sweet chilli and the yoghurt dips. I had a fabulous onion bhaji starter (gigantic crispy golden thing of beauty) and we also tried the chicken pakora which were as good as they get outside Glasgow ;) I had a lovely succulent tandoori chicken and a fragrant and tasty sag aloo for my main - I couldn’t finish it but was able to bring back a takeout! Also had one of the house specials (deshi?) which was again very flavourful and warming. The bill was extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants a “really good curry” to try the Tudor Raj. Finally thank you for the lovely touch of a single red rose as a parting gift- very sweet.”

  “This place was a joy. We had an early table at 6.45pm. It was nice and quiet. On recommendation I tried the Joypur Signature dish in the lamb varient. The flavours were incredible. It was the best curry I remember. The nearly 7ft main waiter dude was such a nice character and very engaging. The price was a little higher than we’ve paid recently but the outstanding food was worth the extra £6 a head in my opinion.”
