Customer Review Summary
Opinion on flavour is divided. One returning diner found the lamb chops, chicken tikka masala and chicken pakora bland and below average compared with years earlier. Another said the signature Chicken Lababdar was sweet and disappointed their table, suspecting diluted spices. A third called the big dining room a factory experience, with no greeting and no thanks on leaving. Reviewers who booked through First Table mention a discount and a quieter room, and a regular visitor says the staff look after them on every trip to Bristol.

“Really enjoyed my food here. They have a separate vegan menu with a great selection of dishes and we our waitress Husan was really nice. We booked through first table, and so it was a little quieter but this was ideal for catching up with friends. I would definitely return here.”

“The food was good value, large quantities but not as flavourful as it could be. - The chicken pakora was good. - The ginger lamb chops were fried rather than grilled so felt a little oily. - The Lamb tak-a-tak was good and a lot of boneless lamb pieces in it - Chicken Lababdar is good. Bear in mind it is on the sweet side so you may want to consider that when ordering - Dal makhani was tasty. We ordered it as a side - The best dish of the day was the Sizzling chocolate brownie with icecream. It was definitely something that was super tasty.”

“Good ambience, comfortable seating. Polite staff. Their mocktails are great. I loved their Virgin Colada. We tried their signature dish - Chicken Lababdar. None of us liked it much. I believe that the flavour/spices was diluted for the regional demographic. Samosa Chaat was nice.”

“Service was excellent, and the food was great fresh and well presented”

“What a place! The food is fresh and aromatic with the perfect blend of spices and cooked to perfection. Every bite has a different explosion of flavours. The combination mix grill is plentiful. The lamb chops are huge and tender and so tasty. The service is 5 star, the staff are so young but so professional and will do anything for you. This is my 2nd visit and it wont be my last. This place is a must if your in town.”
