About Winter Stream Farm - Farmhouse Inns
Winter Stream Farm - Farmhouse Inns is a pub on Vantage Office Park in Bristol, open daily. Its carvery serves meat with all-you-can-eat vegetables, prepared in the style of a Sunday roast and available every day. An all-you-can-eat breakfast runs each morning, and the menu also lists a fish supper alongside other pub classics. Puddings and cakes come in large portions, and ice cream is sold as well. The pub is large and divided into several seating areas, with an indoor play area that lets children play while families eat. Orders are placed at the bar rather than through table service, and a queue can form there at busy lunchtimes. Guests celebrating a birthday get a free cake.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return mainly for the carvery, praising tender meat, a full range of all-you-can-eat vegetables and generous portions, with several calling it good value. Close behind are the cakes and puddings, described as large portions and good for taking home, alongside ice cream and a free birthday cake. Friendly staff come up repeatedly, including the chef, the manager and front of house, and one reviewer who is gluten free valued the help with ordering. The caveats are specific. One reviewer queued a long time at lunchtime because a single bartender was handling every drink, food order and refund, and found the carvery bap stingy on meat and a takeaway éclair cream already turning. Another twice left without eating after the carvery ran out of meat on a Sunday late afternoon. A third describes a cauliflower cheese wrap with burnt cauliflower and a veggie pie with a crust too dry to cut. One diner also describes staff calmly handling an abusive, drunk customer until police attended, then apologising to the families nearby.

“I'm giving 5* for service because the poor guy behind the bar was so nice and professional and cheerful despite being on his own on a lunchtime with a queue of about 8 people doing huge food and drink orders and moaning at him. The poor bloke was doing all the drinks, food orders, making ice creams and coffees, dealing with refunds...the whole shebang. I don't know how he stayed so cheerful without having a breakdown. In fact all the staff are really friendly and nice here. Really the service was 1* for the lack of staff because I had to queue for 20 mins to even just get a drink. Then queue again when we'd decided our food order. The management should sort this out. A lunchtime in the school holidays with 3 Kingswood Community Transport minibuses booked in is going to be hectic...so they should rota staff accordingly! Rant over. Food was the usual cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for etc and they must have had plenty of kitchen staff as it came out quickly. Very stingy on the meat in the carvery bap though so I wont have that again! I recommend the fish supper but I wanted to try something different. I bought an éclair to take away, put it straight in the fridge when I got home but when I got it out of the fridge 2.5 hours after buying it, the cream was already on the turn! Such a shame.”

“Visited this evening with my adult son. His first visit, I've been quite a few times. Staff are always over polite. This evening we dined opposite the bar. Unfortunately there was an extremely drunk customer at the bar abusing the staff and manager using foul language when there were children and families dining. He had been refused alcohol which was very evident why. Staff here handled the situation very professionally in a polite manner. Police did attend , we hope the unbearable male customer was arrested for his verbal threatening behaviour. Staff were apologetic to us , we were treated very well for the inconvenience. The food is British Carvery , the meat is very tenderly cooked. The vegetables are all you can eat which are prepared and cooked as the British Sunday Roast style. Good value for money. Very friendly bar staff ,managment and a lovely chef ! We will come back soon .”

“I had a fantastic experience at Winter Stream Farm. From start to finish, everything was spot on. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the whole venue had a really warm, well-run feel to it. We were looked after brilliantly by Manager Kate, who made sure everything ran smoothly and checked in to ensure we were happy throughout our visit. Front of House Crystal was friendly, attentive, and made us feel well cared for without being intrusive. A special mention also goes to Chef Mark—the food was absolutely lovely. The drinks were just as good, and service overall was efficient, professional, and genuinely friendly. It’s clear the team takes pride in what they do. I’d happily recommend Winter Stream Farm and will definitely be returning.”

“Visited Winterstream Farm today with my daughter and her partner, who kindly treated us to the carvery. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed it – delicious food, generous portions, and a lovely atmosphere. A big thank you to Chef Mark for the excellent carvery, Crystal for her friendly service behind the bar and front of house, and Manager Kate for making us feel so welcome. A great team and a great experience – we’ll definitely be back!”

“This is the third time we’ve been here, first time was with a group of 6, nothing special, all as expected and was accommodating. The second and third time (3 of us) we left without eating as the carvery ran out of meat and this is the sole reason we went out on a Sunday late afternoon. We went elsewhere. Staff were clearing tables quickly and those we did talk to were friendly and polite. We were a bit confused as we weren’t told it wasn’t table service but once you know, you know. The best thing about this place is the cakes/ take away desserts. We have been a few times on the way past to get a cake for later. They are amazing and would recommend 1000%!”
