About The Mason's Arms
On Gloucester Rd in Bristol, The Mason's Arms is a pub built around a carvery served all day, every day. Alongside the carvery, a pizza kitchen and salad bar offer further options, and a small roast and lasagna appear on the wider menu. The carvery itself runs to meats, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, and gravy. Orders and payment can be made through an app or online, with cashless payment accepted, and tables can also be reserved online ahead of a visit. Outdoor seating gives diners the option to eat outside, and both takeaway and delivery let food be enjoyed off site. The pub opens daily, and reservations are recommended. A car park on site rounds out the practical details for anyone driving in.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is the clear centerpiece here, praised repeatedly for fresh meats, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, with several diners calling it good as usual or superb and one highlighting a new pizza kitchen and salad bar alongside it. Close behind, many single out warm, friendly service, naming staff by role rather than title as attentive and welcoming, with quick drinks and online ordering or table payment drawing specific praise. But the carvery experience is also the site of the sharpest complaints: multiple reviewers describe cold, reheated food with rock hard or dried out potatoes, tough or fatty beef, and vegetables served cold or crispy, and one recounts a curt refusal when asking for extra meat on a birthday visit. Toilets are called dirty and smelly in more than one account, and slow drink service tied to understaffing is another recurring frustration, in one case blamed on having only two staff on a busy day. One visitor also reports arriving before advertised closing only to be turned away with no food and no apology. Several reviewers nonetheless say they plan to return specifically for the carvery or the newly added pizza option.

“Haven't been here for quite a long time looking forward to the carvery what a disappointment the beef was very fatty and tough vegetables hard the whole meal was cold only ate the turkey, Yorkshire pudding and a bit of mash, my husband had the bacon cheese burger which came with chips and should also come with coleslaw but no coleslaw as they had ran out, my drink was a latte even that was cold what we had came to nearly £40.00 definitely not worth the money, the ladies and gents toilets were absolutely disgusting dirty and smelly won't be going back”
