About Full House 聚湘緣湘菜馆
A dedicated Hunan section anchors the menu at Full House 聚湘緣湘菜馆, a Chinese restaurant on York Place in Brighton, and the kitchen will adjust the spice level of a dish to the heat you ask for. Customer Review Summary
The Hunan section of the menu is what reviewers return to most, described repeatedly as authentic and, by one diner trying the cuisine for the first time, tremendous. The Mao pork draws the strongest single recommendation, with the squid named as another favourite. Close behind, regulars single out the salted egg yolk chicken wings and the farmhouse stir-fried pork, while others point to Singapore fried vermicelli, ordered both with mixed seafood and alongside Kung Po king prawn, and note a sizzling dish arriving hot and aromatic at the table. Spice lovers say the kitchen will pitch the heat exactly where they ask, something one says no other local restaurant manages. Staff are described as friendly and accommodating, including for a table of six, and the room as warm and relaxed, with Chinese music playing. The clearest dissent comes from one diner who found the egg fried rice bland like plain rice, the sweet and sour chicken hard and dry, and the prawn noodle too oily, though the corn soup was delicious.

“This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Brighton! For a spicy food lover they can make the level of spice that I want, I can’t find something like this in any other restaurant. Staff here are really lovely, they play some good Chinese music in the restaurant too. Overall I love everything about this restaurant.”

“I visited this Chinese restaurant in Brighton and had a really enjoyable meal. I ordered the Singapore fried vermicelli with mixed seafood along with a sizzling dish. The vermicelli was full of flavour, well-seasoned, and had a nice balance of spice without being too strong. The mixed seafood tasted fresh and worked really well with the noodles. The sizzling dish arrived hot at the table and had a great aroma, making the whole experience feel even more special. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming, and the staff were polite and attentive throughout the visit. It felt comfortable and relaxed, like a proper family-run place that cares about its customers. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and I would happily go back again.”
