Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the friendly, attentive service, with the bar and floor staff praised again and again for making diners feel looked after without being intrusive. The food runs close behind, described as delicious, generous in portion and served piping hot, with BBQ pulled pork fries and a roast dinner named specifically. Several mention the welcoming, relaxed local atmosphere, and the pub quiz, bingo and football on screen come up as part of the evenings. Reviewers also describe walk-in diners with children being helped to a table. The caveats are real, though. One reviewer who booked a large birthday table was split across four tables, then faced meals arriving unevenly, a burger described as cremated, a medium-rare steak served well done and a freezing jacket potato, with no reply to the feedback request afterwards. That group also found a loud bingo event running over the meal. Another reviewer found the food lovely but the wait for it twice as long as quoted, even though the restaurant was not at capacity, and wanted staff to communicate delays.

“Lovely food, however we had to wait rather a long time. To be fair we were told it would be 45 min wait. However it turned out to be double that. The restaurant wasn’t at capacity. Watch ‘The Bear’, get a timer, faster staff and communicate if it’s going to be delayed to keep your customers happy.”
